I almost blacked it out but chose the lazy route tbh. The punch stays next to the goose of course! Guy wright was a hero to younger me so the punch was a staple
Wish i knew what gen mine are. The copper is so classy! I definitelly edc my chiefs hard for how much i cherish them. Most other cherished throws dont get carried. Chief is THE throw tho
āIm not a dedicated collectorā has best clyw collection post hahaha
We appreciate your.love for yoyo !
Would you say the Kodiak is your fav? I donāt have any CLYWs and Iām looking for a good one. Not sure what to buy and it looks like thereās limited stock here on YYE store and elsewhere (and the Kodiak seems impossible to find unless Iām checking daily in the sell thread, which Iām not crazy about doing). Any recommendations?
Got back into throwing recently (after a few decades off) and I donāt have a CLYW yet. Any recommendations on what I should get of the ones that are actually attainable? I donāt even know where to start, especially considering so many of the best of the best are discontinued/out of stock.
Two of the latest inspired by the old
I would go with the post above mine. The boy is fun, maneuverable, and floaty. The kodiak may be my favorite but it also has sentimental value to me. Go with what you can get that is not marked up to see if you like the brand then go from there.
Itās hard to recommend anything without specifying what youāre looking for in a yoyo.
If you value comfort in the hand and want a slower yoyo thatās more stable/powerful/forgiving/has a heavier presence on the string then the Borealis 2 is what youād want. If you want something that plays lighter/faster/more agile, and donāt mind it being a bit less forgiving in play then youād want a Boy. The Boy doesnāt have to be played fast though, the lighter feeling makes it pleasant to throw regardless of how youāre playing it. The Borealis 2 feels better in the hand, the Boy feels better on the string.
Iād say those are two pretty easy to find models, but theyāre also on pretty different ends of the spectrum, both originally rooted in Zachās style though. Theyāre pretty indicative of the quality of design and play feel of CLYWs. I prefer the Boy, but thatās my own personal preference based on how I like to play. The two posts above also echo that the Boy is a great option.
ā¦ And Iād have the Gorge.
The day that I will show off my Chief will comeā¦ if Leonard wants.
Thanks for the tips. I honestly donāt really know what Iād like, but this helps. My collection is 15 unresponsives by 9 different companies so I might be a collector of companies, lol, not necessarily types of yo-yos. Iām not crazy about some, but Iāll still throw them a fair amount. My every day is the VTWO right now, but it varies. Again, thanks!
My last buy was the GY Mini Star 2, so I decided to go the opposite side of the spectrum and get the Gorge. Thanks, fellow Coloradan!
My curated CLYW and collab collection, organizing this made me realize Iāve owned a good number of other CL models and duplicates that i just didnāt click with.
Edit: this is the washed out white throw, a custom powdercoated Expedition
Thatās really nice, never seen that colorway and with rainbow rings
