Quitting

Thanks

You can do it. It’s not so bad after the first week.

“Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall”
Proverbs 16:18

Be careful at this point Waylon, it’s right at that point when we say “I got this thing licked.” the dragon raises it’s ugly head and lunges at you. Don’t allow yourself to be caught off guard, be ever vigilant and know temptation can catch up to you at an unexpected moment and tap on your shoulder or grab you by the throat. I haven’t smoked in many years and there are still times when I catch myself thinking I really like a smoke right now.

Never consider yourself completely finished with the battle. The intensity of the skirmish indeed fades, but the enemy never completely stops hounding us about.

Stay strong, press on.

Come on do it do it do it!

you can make it, man!

Think about the trigger. It is so worth it.

I’m not a very prideful person. But I feel confident in this venture for one very good reason: cigarettes make me feel like crap. I don’t eat McDonald’s. even as a smoker, I wouldn’t eat there because every time I did, I felt physically bad. Cigarettes had grown to do the same thing to me. If I can avoid McDonald’s, I can avoid cigarettes.

I played a show tonight. Man, it felt good to sing without running out of breath  I can only imagine how effortless that will become in the future.

Thanks everyone for your continued support  By the way, Audrey is staying strong, too. After a few glasses of wine, she was really tempted tonight. She did well. I’m proud of her

Keep it up, man! If you can look temptation square in the face and tell it to “get stuffed” (or a slightly less nice version of it), you’re doing great =D

You goo dude , i been trying to make my dad stop smoking since i was able to speak ( which is 12 years ago when i was 2 ) and i kept on trying and trying but so far everything i throw at him , he’s still smoking even after he’s got a Lung cancer  .

I found that doing something that’s replica of smoking can really help you such as chewing gum while playing yoyo can simulate the holding and the smoking of the ciggaretes

Good luck!!

Week three is a wrap

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yes! You can do it! Come on the months almost up!

doin great!

Whoops! Apparently math isn’t my strong suit  It’s week three now. For some reason I was thinking we started on the first of October, but it was the seventh.

Well, whatever week it is, you’re doing great! Keep it up, Waylon =D

Thanks! I’m feeling pretty good physically. More energy and stuff. I’ve been eating better, too. Lots of fruit.

Still…WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That made me laugh XD

I’m 22 and I’ve been smoking for about 4.5 years. I saw this thread when it was new and forgot about it.

Fast forward a little bit, I decided to quit smoking this past Thursday. I’m going on my 5th day now smoke free and I am really glad I stumbled back on this thread for some positive reassurance. I’ve been wanting a cigarette badly and like Waylon, I really enjoyed the taste/act of smoking. The cravings have been there the past few days, some times stronger than others.

Thank you for setting a good example and showing me it CAN be done!

Keep up your efforts. NOT smoking is always better than smoking. Substitute the urge to smoke with throwing instead. We have to keep in mind there’s the chemical aspect ad the physical elements to deal with.

Remember, there are products to help.
