Permatex 22074 Ultra Grey for very unresponsive return system

Had a pad fall off soon as I started yoyoing when I got home today. I actually been meaning to ultra grey this yoyo but was waiting to do multiples at once.

I’m so glad that I’ve found this thread. It seems that I’ve found the type of silicone that will introduce me to the world beyond response pads. Did a little research and of course ultra grey is not sold in my country at all lol. Luckily I can get it from abroad.
Two questions:
Can someone tell me approximately how many yoyos can you do with a 3.5oz tube of ultra grey?
And just in case, do I need the one coded 82194? (That’s what I can aquire.)

Maybe like over 100 yoyos if you’re good at not making too much waste or something like that and 82194 is the one I use, it’s good.

I think you can ignore the specific numbers and just look for the name

Sounds good, thanks for the help!

Mmmm glad to see my cult growing.

This was my first purchase after moving back to the US for school.

I have a few yoyos coming in tomorrow so I’ll get to use this real soon

I didn’t read the whole thread so I apologize if this has been mentioned, but I used Loctite SI5102 with great success. Not super sticky but definitely bind slightly stronger than most pads. They last quite a bit, great response, and actually wear down instead of peeling.

We are trying to obtain the opposite so basically the slippier bind possible in the way to do as many tricks as we want with many layers of string and similar and avoid string snag during tricks.

I also siliconed my Klondike and the yoyo become even better with the Permatex, this silicone is the definitive response for me, also I noticed is quite durable, I have yoyos that I play everyday siliconed months ago and still going strong!

I do miss Sheetz.

Nothing close to Sheetz or WaWa out here in Colorado.

Brought it back out and found the silicone cured into the nozzle a bit and had to hack off more of the nozzle to unjam. How should i store it to avoid getting it jammed?

I havent had issues after putting the cap back on, if you fill a syringe with it then you’d have to plug it somehow

Was a little lazy and silicone this one without removing the bearing since it was stuck. Prob not the way to do it especially if it was deshielded

Well , as long as you let it cure. If something goes wrong, you can always just peel it off

Yeah, it worked fine. It’s just a bit difficult to remove all the silicone flecks from the outer bearing but that hardly matters anyways

Well in a little under 2 months I used my recog pads down to the metal  It was actually not slipping on binds all that much. I didn’t realize how low they had gotten because I been scared to open and close my yoyos lately. Though, after tonight I’ve realized some yoyos are made a lot better and don’t seem to be as risky as some others when opening them. Still salty about stripping my Valley haha.

Doing this is getting to be a lot easier now. It’s just about the same amount of time to do this as it is replace pads really by the time you pull off all the glue adhesive. I like the way the grey pops right out and seems to sit in pretty good. Don’t think this stuff will fall out on me like adhesive pads have a few times on me.

That looks pretty clean! I’ve improved my technique over time too, and doing a couple dozen yoyos really helped. One of my recent response jobs looked so good after injecting the ultra gray that it was almost as good as the finished ones that had already cured and had been cleaned up.

I’m definitely a fan of using a syringe to apply it and a guitar pick to recess it. Applying it works quickly and effectively. There aren’t any air pockets and there’s very little extra compound wasted.
