So I use a one drop wizard yo-yo and I put in a kitty string on it but left it on my windowsill for 2 days and when I threw it I noticed it went purple I will upload a photo soon but does anyone know if I should be worried
No need to be worried.
Store your yoyo somewhere out of sunlight when not in use and you won’t have this issue again.
Put ALL your strings in the sun. Purple is superior.
I’d really like to see a picture of this
Red fades the fastest in the sun, so it’s probably just color degradation. It could effect strength of the string depending on the blend, but I would think it would need a lot more time to really break down
The question here is what color kitty turned purple? Red & Pink fade the fastest, but they would only fade out, not shift color to purple. I would love to make my own half color strings if this is real.
It was a white string and I can send a picture when I get home in a hour
That makes sense, purple is common used to make white look brighter, sunlight may have drawn this dye closer to the surface
It’s weird how the place where I tie my finger stays white
Is the purple in the room with us?
Gonna be honest, I don’t think your camera captured it. Maybe if your laid it next to a brand new fresh white string we could see the contrast?
Audrey… the purple has always been in the room.
I can see it now! It’s a faint purple like my grandmas hair used to be but it’s there.
The original string isn’t a pure white, it looks almost orange or off white so the dye on it probably did break down.
I’m trying this right now. I do like purple.
True but the thing is it’s a used string (I really need to buy more kitty string)
Fair enough
This is photodegradation. Uv rays interacting with the chemical compound of the string.
Saw it before I read the text, much better.
Ngl I like the look lol, gonna try this.
