My Design, Gambit: pics on page 8: ALL GAMBITS SHIPPED

Gambit for me. Not Telos, because nobody will ever pronounce it correctly (the pronunciation guide won’t always be handy!)

Telos caught my eye. You can pronounce it however and it’s still going to sound similar. Telos mean an ultimate end which I thought was fitting.

I guess the world at large wouldn’t care that I would pronounce it “Tell-ohs” (with the “os” part sounding like the end of “Helios”, all greek-like)

If you pronounced it like that it still sounds pretty similar. I’m pretty sure the name is Greek as well.

The design looks amazing! Dimensions and weight are all down to personal preference though. I would like it even more if it was a tad smaller, but maintained the same weight.

Perhaps 54mm Diameter with a 41mm Width…

As far as names go, you need a unique company name first. The names of your yoyos should be related to the company name.

I love this idea I heard a while back on the forums.

Company Name: High Seas YoYo Company (HSYYC)
Logo: Perhaps an old, gigantic sail boat. like a pirate ship or chinese junk. Done in a cool tattoo style. With stylish text of course. A boat wheel would look great as well.
Model Names: All ocean / boat themed.
Examples: High Seas Dinghy (undersized), High Seas Tanker (oversized), High Seas Skipjack, High Seas Tugger, High Seas Trawler… There are like 100 cool boat names. The possibilities are endless!

Just an idea.

I ment If your using them just personally use rather than a company it’s cheap.

No, $530 for ten assembled yoyos then like $40 from there.

This is a personal project and I’m not starting a company so a company name isn’t needed. I do want to come up with a name for the yoyos which I have said a few I liked. Just have to think about that more

Out of the names you listed, Vanguard is the best in my opinion.

I think biohazard would be an awesome name

If only you would turn this into a company… Such a good design

By the way so everyone knows, All the 6061 protos will be solid color anodized: Blue, Gold, Clear with some being blasted and unblasted. The 7075 protos will be raw.

Super excited for these to be done! Already ordered bearings and some velvet pouches for these! Have the axles already.

golddddddddddddd. Want.

;D

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but what is EMS? Somebody mind directing me toward it? Thanks

Also, the throw looks pretty cool. Certainly unique! Weight seems quite generally distributed.

EMS is the acronym for the CAD software EMachineShop

I find it to be very beginner friendly and is substantially easier to learn then many other software’s. Its free as well which is great!

Here’s the website:

I’ve tried tons of CAD softwares but EMS seems to be the easiest to use

What do you guys think about these possible logos? These are the three names that I have narrowed it down too. There will be minor change to the middle one (will be in black/white or color) and the last one (with be spelled Vanguard). Let me know what you guys think.

Shout-out to Jamesmay for the logo designs and dealing with this out of the kindness of his heart. A legit member and an excellent graphic designer! Thanks a ton man.
