Not trying to bash anyone, just stating the trends I’ve seen. I’ve reworded a couple things to reflect this. Please message me if you’d like me to change anything else.
I myself enjoy many, if not most of the above models of tried and owned. By all definitions, I get closer to being a “yo-yo boomer” everyday.
Heck, maybe some people could even use the list I made as a potentially helpful “if you like (X yo-yo), try these others!”
Although that may be optimistic…
I’d be happy to make a similar list about the yo-yos that are most popular among younger competition oriented throwers if the topic arises.
I like yyf not sure what the not yyf comments are about maybe I’m missing something.
Either way the rest tracks I guess minus A-rt. No need to hash out the why on that one but don’t get the appeal or why we gotta lump A-rt into yoyo boomers. Gladly take monkey finger and g2 though if we gotta divy up yoyo companies.
Might be best to say all yo-yos are for everyone and personal preferences differ per person regardless of age group or any other non important differentiator. In the end we are all just people that like a hobby with a bunch of really cool options to choose from.
All the same yybc is more or less to me a way to play along with boomer yoyoer comments which tracks for me as that’s my MO. Deal with negative comments with more self deprecation until it’s so watered down no one cares anymore.
Just my tangential two cents but I already think nobody really cares that much. The term barely ever popped up on the forums and when it did it was rarely in a negative way, up until people started wanting to intentionally self identify and obsess over the label in the past week or so. Since then it’s been constant.
Seems a little counter productive tbh. Constant self deprecating on a platform where there were rarely negative comments to begin with.
I just thought it was funny. I assumed there were like 2 kids somewhere that said yoyo boomer and we were all just kind of laughing at the idea. I didn’t realize people were actually getting their feelings hurt about it. I was so proud to call myself a yoyo boomer. Haha
