last I checked, people just called them metals. bi-metal doesnât even technically fit all of those. Like the night moves 5 is nickel plated aluminum, with gold plated bronze rims. Should we call it a quad-metal?
Just end this thread. Call it what you want. The community has called it bimetals for years. The term doesnât necessarily translate into â2 metalsâ (i can be interpreted to be that) but mean bi= â2 materialsâ and metal= âmetal rims.â

Bi-metal or hybrid, I just like the name hybrid.
The body of the yoyo is still composed of two metals. Finishes are variable, the Night Moves 5 in the pic above is actually anodised rather than nickel plated. I think it makes perfect sense to call them bi-metals, regardless of finish. If someone were game to make a yoyo composed of three types of metal itâd be accurate to call it a tri-metal.
