I see one silver yoyo that proves One Drop doesn’t need to make overly wide yoyos that aren’t considered legendary.

…only tangentially relevant, but can we appreciate how nice the TopYo bearing tool remover is? All of my topyo bearing seats have been fine, but if they aren’t, at least they sell you something nice for it.

Oh, I understand! That makes sense. So in this sense, the 543 (pictured on the right) would be wide because it’s 54x54, or a 1:1 ratio, with other examples being the 5050 (50x50) and 583 (58x58). A Leviathan 8 (43x52) would be fairly wide with ratio of 83%, correct?

Since when did tight bearing seats become THE marker for lower quality of machining?

Is it bad I instantly thought of this pic when I saw yours

Sorry lmfao

Yeah 1:1 is very wide in my opinion. 83% I would consider wide. Anything above 80 I would say wide, but agains, that’s my view.

So you contradicted my contradiction of a point that was the same as yours. Context is fun. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nothing against CLYW but that is what they are charging retail for some monos right?

No one said it was. I agree that Chinese factories do good work these days. The bearing post thing is a choice they make. We make a different choice. Each has it’s upside and downside.

“No one said it was”, yet it has been heavily implied throughout this thread. Anyways wasn’t targeted at One Drop.

When removing a bearing for regular maintenance caused damage that compromised the quality of the yoyo. But I get what you’re saying: there are a number of other factors that define quality. I think bearing posts are just the most obvious and easiest to pick on.

i think this goes back to the convo on whether vibe or ano issues matters, which is a whole other bucket of worms

It’s a neat tool though.

It’s a knockoff of the YYR one. Something topyo was known for lol

I hate to butt heads with literally one of the most important companies in history but I wonder if this is really true. Width and whether a yoyo is to be considered “wide” or “narrow” is a spec statistic. It’s not about ratio at all. If you have a yoyo outside the scope of “average” by definition, it is wide. Your guys’ definition of what makes a yoyo “wide” isn’t correct, and I think you’re applying subjectivity to something that is explained with statistics and averages.

If you have a yoyo that’s oversized by definition, at 60mm in dia, and 50mm width, it is wider than the average yoyo; thus, it is a wide yoyo. The ratio means nothing, it’s still a wide yoyo.
