Hi all,
My name is Chris, im from michigan and im 27. I recently got back into yoyoing. I used to yoyo back in the day during the yomega boom around 97 or 98. the other day I randomly started watching yoyo vids on youtube and was instantly blown away at the level of trick out there now. when i yoyoed before there was very little info online about tricks (granted this was b4 even napster was big) I used to think I was pretty decent since i could do split the atom, double or nothing, hydrogen bomb, roller coaster, etc. needless to say i was amazed by what i saw. so I decided to buy a yyf pocket change. i played with that for a week and learned some new tricks but felt like it was holding me back. so i bought a yuuksta about two weeks ago and have been progressing pretty fast. the last trick I learned was spirit bomb and im getting the second pop pretty consistent. Im pretty excited that i have rediscovered my long lost love for yoyoing. its a very mindful/zenful art. I look foward to getting to know everyone on the forums.

Hey there! My name is Parker and I am a born again yo-yo’er. When I was little my dad and all my uncles played with imperials and butterflys. Watching them I thought this was the koolest thing ever, but kids grow up and with time parts of you fall by the wayside. That was in till a couple of months ago when my dad bought some imperials and wanted to see what tricks we could remember. All the love came back in a instant. That night I pulled up yo-yo vids on youtube and was blown away by the modern tricks out there. Soon after I made a trek to Chico were I meet Angie Fast (btw super kool guy, is wasn’t in till after I got back home that I started seeing his vids online. Probably a good thing since it keep me from being star struck.) and he helped me pick out my first “modern yo-yo” (genesis half blue half green). I can’t seem to put this yo-yo down. Every night after work the first thing I do when I get home is start throwing my yo-yo. BIG THANKS to everyone who helps to keep this sight going. It is a huge help for me getting back in to yo-yo’ing. Well that does it for me. Hope I can someday help the yo-yo community so future generations don’t miss out on all the fun the way I almost did.

^^^You don’t live in CA by chance? Cuz I know someone named parker…

Hello all! I’m an Accountant and Japanese translator down in Dublin, Georgia. I’ve been on YoyoExpert for a month or so but just now noticed the PM link to this thread. ::slight_smile:
I’ve been throwing for about a month and a half and just landed my first Spirit Bomb about 5 minutes ago. My main (out of 2 :stuck_out_tongue: ) throw is a smooth-as-silk white YYJ Atmosphere.
I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone in the community, and if you’re near central GA, send me a PM so we can set up a meet somewhere!

Hi everybody, I’m a 23yo british guy and I’ve been yo yo-ing for about 2 months now. I’m currently owner of a speed dial and a grind machine, but am looking to expand my collection further soon. I’ve been on the tutorials of this site for a while now and am currently trying to master the matrix, and look forwards to learning even more complex tricks once i finally work how to get that one mastered.

Welcome to the forums everybody.

hi my name is Jack i just feel super awesome on i am playing with my yoyos it just so awesome when i learn new tricks and it just great to be here in yoyoexpert with others who love yoyos like me.

Hi guys, I’m a 25 year old guy from the u.k. I have pretty much always carried a cheap yoyo in my pocket for moments of boredom but I only ever learned the really simple stuff. See my story is that I have been a skater since I was 12 and it was the thing that I was good at, my hobby and life rolled into one for a time.
Recently however I was diagnosed with severe adhesive capsulitis on my left side (look it up if you don’t know what it is) this put a complete stop to all my skating and I felt lost and like I needed something to do, I wanted it to still be something I could wow people with and something that took skill so I figured I would start playing yoyo and try and teach my stepson as I learn.
For now I still have a cheap metal yoyo but I have a fast 201 coming in the post and I’m learned up to the braintwister in the tutorials on this website.
Any hints or tips to help me learn would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to being a part of this community

Hey. Welcome everyone.

Welcome to you all

Hi. I’m jpman and I’m about an intermediate yoyo-er right now. if anyone has a tip or advice, i’d love 2 hear it! As a first question, does anyone know how to get a tiny bit of string out from between two ball bearings? They’re jammed together by it and its driving me insane!

fastest way I can think of would be to remove the bearing cap and carefully burn the string out with a lighter, I had the same problem and it worked for me.
