He has had to give up an Iceberg already unfortunately not the color I would have personally chosen
…. But he’s struggling with letting go of a Titanic and unfortunately the blue he has is Way better looking than the Gold .
I agree with him on the titanic it’s to beautiful to let go ![]()

He’s got Two! It’s better than the alternative

Well in that case….
Welcome to the forum! Your post made me smile! I’m glad to hear that you and your husband are having some fun enjoying yoyos together. My wife throws a little bit, she has a CLYW Kayak that I gave her and she has her bind down solid now. I think she mostly plays just to humour me and participate a bit when I’m throwing - I like it. – Also 5 young kids, wow! We currently have 1.5 year old and I can’t imagine taking on any more right now. That’s awesome though!
Thanks
, I think most wives like to appease our husbands by doing their hobbies even if they get out of hand
. I have gotten my bind pretty much down and I’ve somewhat got the brain twister and I’m working on the breakaway/ man on flying trapeze, I’ll get it soon I think. And yes 5 kids plus a puppy and homeschooling and house that needs to be cleaned
I may not have time but I’m on a mission ![]()
Easiest bind ever by the forums @yoyodoc. I have no clue why people teach the bind where you lift and carefully thread blah blah blah.
Interesting observation here… “this is not a bind”; until it is time to wind the yo-yo ![]()
-The video explains how “this is not a bind”
-He then shows the “proper” way to bind, which is the exact same end position, just a different path.
-He then uses what he says isn’t a bind when he winds his throw.
It’s the simplest fs bind to learn. That’s all that matters. The video doesn’t even need sound.
Technically, if there was no sound, you would assume that lifting the string to bind is the easiest and the next would be what you work towards. If you can’t hear his disagreement with the beginner bind taught on yo-yo tricks videos, it would be a nice video. It is still a nice video for someone that has realized the concept of binding. She started by lifting and now she is working on the “proper” bind. And to our surprise, the first one actually is a bind; it just doesn’t look ![]()
Maybe it’s just personal preference. I learned by lifting but once I learned this way I never went back as I found it slows things down. No harm in knowing both ways and just doing whatever feels best.
Good Morning!
I figured I would finally stop lurking after all this time and create an account to stop the “Sign In” pop up every 30 seconds. ![]()
Not much to say… love to throw, not the best, but not the worst. Have a collection, not the biggest, but not the smallest.
Call me a freak, but my favorite throw is the Dogma… not sure why. Maybe it’s the cuts on inside, maybe it’s because I like the upside down L.
I tend to be sarcastic, take everything I say as a joke, or don’t.
Anyway, thanks for having me here.

Welcome!
Welcome to the forums! I don’t see anything wrong with liking the Dogma, it might be an old yoyo, but it’s still pretty dang good! Hilarious disclaimer right there.
Hey everyone! My name is Nate, or Nat, idk which I prefer. I’m 22 years old and recently moved to Long Beach, CA from the East Bay area. I started throwing when I was about 14, didn’t progress much as I had no understanding of yoyo maintenance and was using the wrong throw, and dint have many learning resources at all. I recently got back into throwing as an impulse decision because I was bored while quarantining for a week. I picked up a Magicyoyo K2 Crystal and progressed very quickly. My current setup is a Magicyoyo N6 Magistrate, with the Monkeyfinger Tasmanian tornado bearing and the Monkeyfinger Vines thin extra long string (started with regular length and found that I felt restricted and ran out of string quickly, plus I like more flowy tricks vs fast tricks). I am currently working on Eli hops and seasick, and trying to step out of my little comfort zone of basic frontstyle speed combos. Next I want to work on more advanced binds and building a wide arsenal of tricks that I can use to create my own unique style of yoyoing. I hope to connect to other throwers around my age in Southern California as I have never had any friends who throw. I also feel that surrounding myself with others in the community will help me quickly improve. Hope everybody is having a great day ![]()
Welcome, lots of people in SoCal. DXL Crew has been around forever, and has meet ups in the LA area, instagram or facebook.
Welcome @notpostmalone
I wonder how if feels to grow up in the advanced yo-yo world. I grew up in a pre internet and pre unresponsive world.
I could only imagine. The internet is so useful, we have access to any and all info we need.
