Introduce Yourself!

IMPOSTOR!!! WE HAVE AN IMPOSTOR!!! HEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!

Welcome! Bro! Welcome to the comunity

My name is John, I started my yoyo play in the early to mid 90’s, put my yoyo down and just started back into things recently. I am mostly into 1A style play, tried some unresponsive stuff and can do a basic front and side bind. Oh, and I am “old” too haha 8)

Welcome johnj4y. Remember, the most important thing is to have fun.

Hey guys happy to be here and with yoyo in hand wherever I Rome as for right now I have a bunch of responsive and non responsive throws but my favorite is believe it or not a heavily modified duncan pro z and until I learn more tricks and refine my style I will stay with it as my everyday throw so I don’t have to worry about destroying a more expensive yoyo I can’t before to replace

Salutations, Eric from Connecticut, one half of a century on the planet. I’ve been hooked on yo-yo’s since about 1999. It’s still a lot of fun, there’s always new things to learn, there’s always new yo-yo’s too. How many yo-yo’s should one have? I don’t know, I’m not there yet.

Helll, I’m James from Sydney. New to Yoyoing. Loving it so far! Can’t wait to get my hands on the YYF Shutter, it might just be my favourite.

I’m 42… almost 43. I remember at age 6, my mothers friend giving me a yoyo (a Duncan Imperial) as a gift. Louise had shown me how to do a basic return, a sleeper and a walk the dog. I loved yo-yo’s and I spent the entire summer learning and playing with it. I can even remember the excitement upon achieving my first return, sleeper, etc. So for the rest of my life I would pick up Duncan Imperials and over the years fart around with basic tricks. Sadly at age 42 (Jesus I feel old) I just discovered bearing yo-yos. I’m hooked. I had know that there were bearing yo-yo’s out there, but what I “considered” a bearing yoyo was actually a transaxle, not knowing the difference. So I dug out an old Imperial and used it for my daughter and she was so amazed, I said lets go to Toy’s R Us and you can pick out your own, they even have one called “The Butterfly” and she was into it. Little did I know that my trip for her, turned into a trip for me… They had real bearing yo-yo’s there, from Yo-Mega. I laughed for a second as I saw the price tag first. I said who the hell needs a $30.00 yo-yo? (Remember, I’m an old fart now…) then I saw the bearings in their exploded view packaging that had. Suddenly I said Well, I guess that I NEED a $30.00 yo-yo! After playing with for a while with my daughter, I came upstairs and started doing some research, which got me to here, with TWO $60.00 yo-yo’s later.
Very excited to see that YoYoExpert is roughly one hour from my house, so thats close enough to attend any events they might have. If anyone on here actually attends any events there or lives in Connecticut, hit me up in a private message. Thanks! I’m glad I’m not so old that I’ve forgotten the passion I had for a simple toy, and can re-live it in all of its glory as an adult.

Re-discovering yoyo’s as a fully grown adult is exciting. So many changes in types and playing styles. Nothing like the old days (and nothing wrong with the old days). So, welcome Chopper, welcome!

It is really cool! I am a young wiper snapper my self but I have met quite a few people who were competitive yoyoers when solid axle was all they had! and one of them would win every year so they asked him to sit out he would still get the winner reward and he could help run it! Of course he accept it! who wouldn’t accept a second first prize with out competing! although prizes were only things like a new yoyo or some strings and stuff but still pretty cool!

WOW, a young wiper snapper, I though only old men like me used that term.
Anyway, WELCOME,WELCOME, WELCOME! And have fun.

LOL I have been here awhile I try to be a greeter like you sometimes. :stuck_out_tongue:

But yeah it is a fun set of words. :stuck_out_tongue: and thought you people would appreciate it! XD

Lots of us “old folks” (I’m 42) around these parts. Welcome newcomers of all ages!

Hi my name is Taylor?

Hello Taylor?

LOL angryskills you don’t even know your name!!! XD

I’m Jerwin, an intermediate Yoyo-er. I started using Yoyos about 3 years ago when I received a Duncan Wheels for Christmas. That wheels broke after a couple months. The next Christmas, I got ANOTHER Wheels. I really got into basic tricks and looping with it, which I think is pretty impressive. It’s extremely hard to learn looping with a butterfly yoyo ;). I decided to learn string tricks, so I bought a Duncan Throw Monkey a few months ago. A month ago I bought an unresponsive yoyo. Right now I’m learning some string tricks on my Magic Shadow T8 and 5A on my Throw Monkey (which is my favorite yoyo).

Welcome Jerwin!
I learned loops with a butterfly yoyo as well! I learned with the mosquito by Duncan never got really good at loops cause I was more interested in learning bigger tricks. :stuck_out_tongue: my second yoyo was the lime light which comes stock with a wood axle so I modded it with bearings and it became a glow in the dark speed beetle! (highly advise this for fun and play around with loops and makes it more showy! :D) My friend later got me the flying squirrel this got me lightly into 5A but never gotten very far with it. :stuck_out_tongue: Also liked the Flying squirrel cause it is almost the mosquito being a flare shape not a butterfly with four metal balls added two on each side for weight! XD Made it sleep a little longer and added a chatter every time the yoyo would become unstable. :stuck_out_tongue: Ended up giving the limelight to the friend that gave me the flying squirrel and the lime light no longer glows… :frowning: now I use my most beat yoyo the t5 Overlord by Magicyoyo of 5A. The Overlord was my 5th unresponsive yoyo out of which two of the preceding yoyos are still in one piece! XD (the two before were my first yoyos the hit man pro, which I killed when I stepped on it while camping… and the other one the SR-71 wouldn’t unscrew so I killed the plastic part to get the bearing out of it. :P) so now you know about my fun life with yoyos! XD
