Welcome to the forums. You might want to upgrade to a budget mettle if your planning on doing longer trick/combo’s. There’s a couple out there like the YoYoFactory Shutter
The YYF Shutter that Erik mentioned is a great upgrade if you’re looking for an upgrade.
But really it just takes tons of practice. Stay with it, post on the forums if you’re having lots of trouble with a trick, and watch lots of tutorial videos (great vids right here on YYE!)

Hi my name is Jason smith. I’m 19 and I live in Kentucky for the moment. I’ve been into yoyos sence I was about eight years old but just recently got into more advanced forms of play. I’m currently using a protostar but would like to upgrade to an all metal yoyo. I learned about this site through yoyojams profile for Andrey a yoyomaster. It’s funny I watched his videos on YouTube for years before I found out about this site. I’m getting better the more I practice but I wouldn’t really class myself as an advanced player yet.
Nice! Glad you’re branching out, some of those advanced tricks are soooo much fun! If you’re looking for a budget all-metal, I’d recommend the YYF Shutter. (I know everyone is probably sick of me beating the Shutter drum, but dang is that a good yoyo for the price.)

Hey everybody, I’m pretty new here. I’ve posted in a few threads already, so I figure I might as well introduce myself.
I just got back into throwing after quite the hiatus. I used to play back in middle school, but basically dropped everything throughout high school and college. 9 years later, or about a month ago now, I saw a post on reddit about yoyos, and decided it would be a fun thing to pick up again.
Over the past month I’ve had a blast, and I’m totally hooked again. I found all of my old yoyos, and I’ve added 6 new ones to my collection. So far, here’s what I’ve got:

Original YYJ Dark Magic and Lyn Fury

…and I’ve got a Bapezilla.2 on the way.
Right now I’m focusing only on 1A style, but eventually I’d like to start looping (never tried it) and having some fun with off-string again (I got the basics down back when I first got my flying panda). I’m glad to be back!
