Hello, my name is Aaron. I am 12 years old, and (on the day of this post) I began yo-yoing after I had bought myself a Glow-Yo back in January of 2014(a standard yo-yo with a light thingy), and progressed to the Velocity, and finally Iām here with a Yomega Dash. I am a intermediate yo-yoer, as I am (or may not be anymore) working on my Double-Or-Nothing. I found this site, looking for a review on the Protostar, and then I joined, and now talking here. My favorite trick is the Split The Atom. The trick, I donāt know why, but itās my default trick to break in new strings, bearings, and yo-yoās.
Hello, my name is Jacob Gustafson and I like cookies. My favorite color is either red, blue, pink, white, or green. Oh yea I āforgotā I should introduce myself as a yoyoer. Well, where do i start? Iāll just start with my very first yoyo. my very first yoyo was a yoyo ball toy thingy that does not sleep when you throw it, or stay in your hand when you catch it, or do anything that you really want it do! But I remember having fun with it. I donāt know if I would really count the time i got that first yoyo, the time I āstartedā yoyoing. Mostly because I was like 6 and ended up breaking it within a week or two. Before I bore you with that story I will move on to the next yoyo I got which was the yyf starlight. I think I got this yoyo when I was around 11 or so. I still have this yoyo now and its actually in perfect condition. Iām 14 now so Iāv had it about 3 years. Although my enthusiastic motive to learn and progress with yoyoing, even the simple trick trapeze had me stumped and took me weeks and weeks to finally get. I bought some other plastic cheap yoyos and one metal yoyo, (which was the yyf jk) after my starlight. I never really got anywhere with yoyoing until right before Christmas of 2012. Thats when I got the yyf protostar, and that January I got the yyf Genesis for my Birthday, both of which were more advanced then what I had before. Trying to learn as much as I could, I went to a local yoyo club held at airtraffic. Also competed at some yoyo contests, (Minnesota yoyo contest 2013, as well as midwest regional yoyo contest that same year, and later Iowa state yoyo contest). After that Iāv been getting many more yoyos, a few of which are the clyw and one drop summit, clyw avalanche, g squared quake and yyf shutter. Also I have been expanding my skill and yoyo style trying to get alot better. Other than doing Minnesota states this year (2014) I have not done anymore yoyo contests, but definitely planning many more in the near future! And now the story has caught up with the future and Iām just here, liking cookies and not sure what my favorite color is. Well, thatās pretty much my story! I donāt think I covered much of anything interesting, but let me now if i greatly impacted and changed anybodyās view or ideas of life or anything.
I am just getting back into yoyoing after about a 10+ year hiatus. I used to be really into it in the late 90ās, and a few months ago was going through some old boxes and found my old Raiders. I started playing around with them, and immediately was sucked back in. Still VERY new to this whole modern yoyo scene, but I have to say Iām enjoying it. I went out and picked up a decent nonresponsive throw and have been working on teaching myself the bevy of tricks I have never seen before which now seem to be standards.
I live in the NJ/Philly area⦠if anybody is close and looking to throw down a little (and doesnāt mind putting up with a noob) give me a shout!
Itās definitely changed a lot, even just since I was last into yoyos, about 2006. The throws are so good nowadays and there are so many tricks to learn!
Thanks! And yes it definitely has⦠it took me about 2 youtube vidoes before I realized the raider was going to be WOEFULLY inadequate for some of these newer string tricks lol
But now Iām playing with a Glide, and Iām loving it. Still have lots to learn though
Hey all, Iām Josh (if my handle didnāt already give that away⦠;D). Iāve actually been around here for awhile, but never was very active, and I havenāt been on YYX at all since the end of 2012 so I figured I ought to re-introduce myself before gallavanting off into the forums. 8) June will be six years that Iāve been seriously yoyoing, with the last nine months or so having been an almost-hiatus. Life just got crazy busy and I pretty much had to drop all hobbies - yāall know how that goes. I live in Idaho, Iām a machinist by trade going to school for mechanical engineering, and⦠well, I like yoyos. Out of all the hobbies Iāve ever had, which is a considerable number, I donāt think Iāve ever stuck with one longer than yoyoing. So, there you have it, folks. With no guarantees whatsoever on my future level of activity, Iām back!
Hey, I donāt wanna say my name cause I freak out about internet security all the time : Anyways, Iāve been yoyoing for about 10 months and really starting to get into the whole culture behind it :P. My profile says my favorite trick is yuuki slack, but Iām really not sure what my favorite is⦠Usually just whatever trick I come up with on that particular day. My favorite throw is the MVP 2 and canāt understand why not many people use it on a regular basis cause it is by far the best feeling yoyo Iāve used in a looong time. Though it is really unforgiving when you get a bad throw.
