Introduce Yourself!

He said he’s older, not more mature.

Welcome aboard! Must be about time to think about firing up the “Old Guys Who Can Sorta Throw” battle for the year…

Valid. I’m probably a good example of the “older not wiser”…

Thanks for the welcome. I think some sort of ladder contest for the old guys would be an interesting idea. I’m polishing up my trifocals in anticipation. I gotta add that I am very mature. I can ride my bicycle to the skateboard park by myself now.

Hi everyone, new member here. I used to yo-yo about 10 years ago when this anime was shown on TV in my country. I forgot about yo-yoing until I saw this little kid playing with a yo-yo at a parking lot (while I was getting stuff for my car). So, please help this poor noob who can barely do a sleeper.

BTW, I made a mistake bought a (Yomega) BX2 because it looked cool to me. I realized that it’s masking my suckiness. I quickly bought a (Yomega) Brain to realize I couldn’t even throw a straight sleeper. I also bought a Raider because it was on sale lol.

With all that said, I wish I picked up this hobby sooner. I’m addicted to yo-yoing now.

Welcome to the forums.

Pretty much everyone here is addicted to yoyoing. So your not alone

I just joined the other day as well.

Thanks for the welcome Ginny! I posted a pic of two of my rarest yoyos in collectors corner I still have from my childhood. If you have any oldie goldies, I think it would be cool to post a pic of them.

I’m gehad(pronounced G-Had) and I’m an expert yo-yoer who uses this website to learn tricks. I love my yoyofactory DV888 by far the best yoyo I’ve ever had and I recommend it for any yoyoer a who want to take their yoyo game to the next level.

Greetings. I have been yoyoing for about 30 years now on and off. I recently just got back in to it. Showing my kids all the cool tricks you can do with a yoyo has really inspired me to learn advance tricks. I have only been playing unresponsive for about a year or so. Looking forward to useing this board to progress my skills and learn. Thanks.

I would make another joke about your nick, but I think they’ve all been made. Welcome!

Welcome!!!

I do like my dv888 but I find I prefer full size throws. Have you tried the YYF Shutter?

Also, welcome!

Awesome! Gotta get the kids hooked too! Welcome!

Hi

It’s been a long time. Some may remember me, I was active as either stringburns or stevejspins on Extremspin and the Nation. I still yo-yo but it’s been so long I had to relearn some of the basics.
Fortunately I focused on the fundamentals, so it’s not too bad. Fundamentals are the key imo, and others who are light years ahead of me in terms of ability and creativity.

I’m an older guy, and still like the sector y repertoire such as kamikaze and kwijibo. I’m not fancy, and if it’s too hard, well it’s just that and maybe not worth the time. This is supposed to be fun & relaxing, life has enough challenges. Like music, a well done simpler trick is better than something sloppy and over my abilities. The average spectator is just as impressed by eli hops as highly technical tricks with 10 moves. The un-initiated like braintwister for that matter. There’s lots of easy tricks to perfect and combine.

It’s a wonderful hobby, mobile, and easier than juggling. I have huge respect for good jugglers.

Anyway, I’m glad to see the hobby is still very popular. We’re never too old to yo-yo.

My favorite yo-yo right now is old dif tank, my very first metal from many years ago.

Best,

stevejspins
