Why do you say that, Erik? They’re both equally capable of all levels of play. They’re two unresponsive yoyos at price points that aren’t a world apart. There’s nothing inherently “beginner/intermediate” about the Protostar, nor anything inherently “advanced” about the Inspire.
Hello yoyo experts. I’m Jacob Stonebarger. I’m a student at UNT who picked up yoyo-ing again after I bought a Duncan Imperial at a grocery store on a whim. I picked up looping pretty quick and got one of the black Friday mystery box so now I’ve become pretty decent at string tricks. I signed up for the forum so I can find some fellow yoyo-ers in the Denton/North Dallas area so we can hone our skills. If anyone in the Dallas area wants to get in contact visit my profile, my e-mail should be there.
My name is Alex, I got my first yoyo when I was 6 (Duncan mosquito) but have since stopped. Christmas 2013 rolls around and I got a yomega heavy wing hyper warp. Within a week it was broken due to over tightening. My mom said she’d replace it for me so I dropped an extra $15 on a yoyo factory grind machine. I’ve been getting pretty good but I’m nowhere near the best. My favorite trick is one I invented, I think but correct me if I’m wrong, is a modified split the atom. Instead of putting one string into the back of the yoyo put both strings in and do a brain scrambler then pop the yoyo out and do another brain scrambler. I’ve dubbed it The Man with Two Brains Scrambler. But then again correct me if im wrong and this is another trick.
Yo, fellow yoyoers. Yoyodog1375 here. I have been yoyoing for about a year now and I’d say that my favorite yoyo is the shutter, which I have been throwing for a few weeks now. Its dead smooth and its great for all types of tricks. I came across this website when I was first starting to get good at yoyoing and I was learning tricks all the time. I forgot how to do the
double or nothing (what a nook, am I right?). I looked it up on Google and this is what I found. I just didn’t bother to join the forum until now. Despite what my profile says, my favorite trick is one I just learned: Wrist Whip.

My name is Cornelius Johnson… I’m 30 and live in Dallas, TX. My handle/id is Akumuvirus for everything I do/use… I use to throw back in 97-98 during a yoyo boom. I quit after learning Split the Atom not knowing there was more stuff to learn. I started back when I got a YYJ Dark Magic II for Christmas last year (Christmas of 2012)… I now have about 10 yoyos and really want more. Yoyos have taken over my life, in a good way. I love it! Can’t get enough of it! I want to be apart of the yoyo community in a good way. Hope to keep throwing for a long time now. Hope to meet some cool people too. So far, 99.999999999% of the ppl I have met in the community has been really cool. lol. Live happy and throw a lot!
