Firsy post of year in east cost. Darn nevermind. And sorry i meant to post this in how hugh can we go.
Pay attention there.
Haha i will next time!
Hello,
I am coming new yo-yoing late (27 years old). I got a Duncan Imperial as a stocking stuffer and after playing for like 4 hours/day for the last week I decided I can get a better yo-yo. I am initially planning on playing with 1A so I ordered a DM2. I am in Northern Maryland if there are any other throwers around.
-Bright Regards,
Jarick
northern maryland eh? Well some of us In central MD are scheming on starting a Fredrick county Yoyo club of we can figure out a date. But I have a friend named nathan on the forums (CMDR_Resivoir) he lives up in northern MD. But ATM if you like VA states Yoyo competition is less than 2 weeks away if your interested in learning some tricks there which would probably help ya out a lot.
hi everyone
my name is Uriya and iām from Jersey⦠currnetly iām playing with Yomega heavy wing⦠just something i found from years agoā¦
and i have a question, what is the size of the ball bearing for this model, i would like to make it unresponsive yoyo

The heavy wing takes a standard yomega bearing if you dont believe me you can look a the specs here http://shop.yoyoexpert.com/product/493/yomega-heavy-wing
Hope this helped
Hi! I was given an Imperial in 1960 and entered my first and only contest in 1961. It was sponsored by Duncan and held in a 5 & 10 cent store parking lot. Only basic tricks were used cause only basic tricks (sleeper, walk the dog, around the world, etc.) were known. I was cut early.
I am now relearning and am overwhelmed with the new tricks and throws.
Welcome!
HA! I love how you tell this old yoyo tale and Iām all intrigued and hoping for a sweet āAnd I busted out what you kids call a spirit bomb nowadays, right in the middle of the contest and won!ā but no you give a good oleā¦and I was cut early. That would totally be me.
Not sure if you are a youtube guy, but I saw this kid once on youtube and I thought he had some cool moves, but donāt take it from me Iām not sure because Iām no pro, but he sure does make it look good, and all he uses is a Duncan Imperial. Here is the link for ya. Happy throwing, and donāt let all of the new stuff overwhelm you, because i just started too and i have just as much to learn!
Here is the link for that Duncan Imperial video of the kid who does some pretty cool stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UoGxpGYhBg
Whats up everyone? My names Derek. Live in the Suburbs of Detroit (Sterling Heights, Michigan)
Iāve had yo-yoās my entire life but pretty much just stuck with the basic tricks. I could never really learn anything else. Iāve had a Hand Full of Yomega yo-yoās. 4 Brainz, 1 Fireball, and a Raider. The Raider has been my favorite. However Iāve left them in my parents garage when I moved out and recently looking for some winter clothes found them all in the box and the bearing was pretty much ruined and has some rust on it.
But anyways. Iām looking into learning some awesome new tricks. I have a new Werrd Eighty-six400 in the mail. Iāll upgrade later down the line once I get better but just wanted to get something decent for now.
If anyone has any tips Id appreciate it. First things to learn? etc
Thanks Everyone
Welcome to the Forums!!! Iād recommend learning the tricks here on YYE before anything else.
Waz up iām swiftduststorm or Dave and Iāve recently started yo-yoing: 2013 june.
I began yo-yoing when this yoyo guy came to our school and preformed a couple of tricks that looked cool at the time (there pretty darn easy), he was selling $20 yo-yos and they played like crap so I bought some better yo-yos and they were much better.
I found this forum out by searching up some beginner tricks ( I can do all of them now).
My favourite yoyo that I have so far when I posted this is the Shark Honor, $20 but plays like a $75 yoyo precise balance and high grade aluminium.
Best trick that Iāve learned so far is a tie between split the atom and boing-e-boing.
And I now have 5 throws
Hey everyone, my name is Jonathan and am new to this wonderful site! I have been lurking around for about the past week and finally decided to join. This place is great and is absolutely the number 1 spot for everything yoyo! I love it here! Iām from Albuquerque, NM USA. I use to yoyo about 14 years ago and had a few basic throws and a couple decent ones. I would also practice quite a bit with an off string Henrys Viper.
I barely got back into yoyoing a couple weeks ago when I seen a display of low budget throws at toys r us. I did a little research and come across at how much the art of yoyoing has changed. The unresponsive this is definitely new to me, yet cool and a lot better for play instead of how yoyos use to be. I came across this site and looked around and found that many of you suggest the yyf velocity as a good throw to start with so thatās what I got and am starting to get back into things and weāll as binding.
Sorry for the long intro but just wanted to stop by and say hello and that Iām glad to be apart of this great yoyo family. 8)
Welcome! Good luck learning all those tricks If you get stuck on one you can make a thread about it in the yoyo trick section
Welcome! good choice with the velocity its a perfect throw for beginners Cause its responsive when you need it and as you get better you can make it unresponsive
Have Fun throwing and Good Luck some of the new advanced/expert tricks can be pretty chalanging
Thanks for the warm welcomes guys. I will definitely keep practicing and look forward to some of the advice that you guys will offer.
No Problem
If your having trouble with a trick dont get frustrated just try doing a different trick for awhile and then go back and try it again
Thats what I usualy do when Im having trouble with a trick but the main thing is to just have fun
You have a story fairly similar to mine. I donāt use my velocity too much anymore, but as someone who could maybe do a split the atom on a Fireball yoyo, then learned that unresponsive existed a couple of months ago, I was very happy with it for learning binds and working on my throw technique. It doesnāt spin the longest, but took me through something as long as Rewind without any issue. I only started looking onward when I got the mystery box and started using the genesis and shaqlerstar, which really do spin for a significantly longer time with a good throw. As it is, Iām sure the velocity will take you toward the end of the advanced stuff on this site, though it does come off balance easier than some yoyos.
Welcome, Dave and Jonathan!
