Hi guys, I’m Dave a 32yr old graphic designer from UK. I’m just beginning to throw after my daughter got a yoyo & I discovered I could get a half-decent sleeper & could remember to rock the cradle after 20+ years of not touching a yoyo. I’m awaiting delivery of a yoyojam journey & have been checking out some videos & now can’t wait to start throwing properly & getting a bit of a repertoire of tricks I’m sure I’ve got a load of stupid questions to ask & hours of practice before I’m there tho
yeah your right with that it takes a while to learn. but fear not! the forum is always happy to help with problems and its really rewarding when you learn a new trick!
have fun with it welcome
Cheers, I was amazed I could remember as much yo-yo as I could to be honest but looking through these videos, I’ve still got a looooooong way to go yet!
Hi! I am a 12 year old yoyo player who has been yoyoing for 2 and a half years (competitively is about 5 months). I love the yoyo community and it has molded me into the person I am today. My favorite sports are soccer and tennis, and I play them a lot. I am in 7th grade and 4’9". (I’m a small kid for my age.

Enjoy that Shutter.
Hello everyone I am Caiel I started yoyoing 11/3/2012 and I know Branding, Black Hops and learning And Whut. My first yoyo was a Duncan Reflex a Auto Return yoyo, it help me to get stronger throws, then my second yoyo was a Yomega Maverick where I learned the Bind and Roller Coaster, Gyroscopic Flop, Spit The Atom and so on, Then my Third 1A yoyo was the YoYoFactory Shutter my favorite yoyo Where I leared the more advance tricks. I also do 4A and 5A, my first 4A yoyo was a Yomega Xodus 2 where I learned all the basics, then I got a Duncan Hayabusa where I learned Grinding, Underhand Whip and so on. My second yoyo broke because the string snaped and hit a hard surface and hit it on the side so the thread was ruined, since then I knew when to change my string lol.
Hello! I’m Raffy but call me Rafferty as my friends used to call me. I played wooden yo-yo when I was a kid. I can’t remember my exact ages when I learned sleeper. Well, that was basic and I never pursue since then but now I want to continue learning other tricks.
My name is Eric Hartman (daytripper7711 on Instagram and now here), I’m 23 and am a student at Northampton Community College in my hometown of Bethlehem, PA. I’ve been throwing now for about 10 months and have known about YYE from the very beginning, but never got into the forums, until now.
My favorite company is G-Squared & The Triton is my favorite throw. (I also love CLYW & YYJ) My favorite trick ‘technique’ would have to be GT’s; and my favorite mount is a 1.5.
Hi, my name is Le Cong Thanh. As you can see, I’m VietNamese. I’ve known YYE for month but I didn’t join it up until now. I’m only new at yo-yoing (still stuck at intermediate tricks =='). My first Yoyo (current one) is Grind Machine, don’t know if it’s a good yoyo or it’s because of my terrible play :). Anyway, nice to meet you all, I’m new to this so don’t be harsh on me if I do st wrong :D. Oh and sr for my bad english @@
Le, your English is excellent! Welcome to the forums.

Hope you find some neat tricks to do with them, or maybe a modification…
Welcome!
Hello my name is Lucas and yo-yoing is my favorite thing to do. Right now I have 2 years of yo-yoing under my belt. My favorite throw is the Shutter along with YoYoFactory my favorite company.
nice to meet you Lucas! Welcome to the club! It’s cool you decided to make a forum account after so long of yoyoing
Hi my name is John. I first started yo-yoing when I was in third or fourth grade after seeing yo-yo man on the Smother’s Brothers show. I had a lot of different Duncan yo-yos and my Mom was cool enough to buy me several Tom Kuhn yo-yos, the pride of my collection being the Silver Bullet I. Yo-yoing gave way to Junior High, High School, College and life in general.
About three months ago My wife came home with a Duncan butterfly that her company had given to everyone. I picked it up, threw a sleeper, walked the dog, rocked the cradle, then started to list the tricks I used to be able to do, or wished I could do. My wife was curious so she looked one of them up on her iPad and found YoYoExpert. When I saw the site I couldn’t believe how far yo-yos and “throwing” had come since I was a kid.
I ordered a black spade edition dark magic II and the rest was history. Three month’s later I’m almost finished with the Expert Part II list of tricks and I’m about 15 new yo-yos poorer. I can’t believe how much I enjoy learning and working on different tricks as well as collecting yo-yos. It is very hard to explain to someone that doesn’t throw why you need more than 1! I’m also very much looking forward to introducing my infant twins to throwing when they are old enough.
Over the past three months I have really enjoyed reading many of the posts on this forum. I have learned a lot and found much of it highly entertaining (In the best possible way!). I look forward to being part of the community.
awesome! It’s cool you found your way over to our cozy little shack. It is certainly hard to explain the desire to collect throws to a yuggle
Best of luck with all you got going for ya
First time here. I used to Yo back in the day 20+ years ago, don’t remember exactly when. My favorite yoyo was a Tom Kuhn Mandala 3 in 1 (which I now want to get another one for old times sake… I wish i knew where my old one was). The other day for my 40th birthday my aunt gave me a yoyo trick book with 2 garbage yoyo’s(basically a gag gift) which piqued my interest again, so i ordered a yoyo factory velocity after looking at some youtube videos and such. It’s amazing how far the hobby has come since then. Looking forward to getting into it again. I figured the velocity would let me do my old school stuff and also let me attempt the new stuff, which looks crazy to me at this point.
Cool man! I got I into yoyoing much like you got re-into it.
So… welcome to the forums. There’s loads of cool peeps and peepets (totally real slang). I hope you progress well in the art of yo
And the cool stuff does look crazy, but remember its just practice away
