Introduce Yourself!

Hey everyone. My nae is Brandon, I’m 28 years old, and I’m from Southeast Michigan.

I’ve been throwing on and off(mostly off) since 1997, but only for about 2 months this time around. I’ve seen lots of fads come and go, but yoyos always seem to come back. I’m into a lot of other skill toys as well, I’m pretty good at cubing, my best 3x3 solve is about 40 seconds, and I can also solve the 4x4 and 5x5, but my times are nothing to write home about. I also juggle, clubs and balls. Right now I can do three clubs, and I’m always learning new flourishes, and I can do 4 balls. I also have some experience with Devil Sticks and Kendama, but nothing too serious.

I’ve been lurking on the forums for a while now, and it seems like a great community to be a part of. I’m looking forward to being a bit more vocal from now on.

Cheers!

Hey, I’m Everett, I have been bit by the bug (again), and I’m really looking forward to receiving my MX888, and I’m hopefully going to go into a more intermediate-advanced level, if I can. Oh yeah, and I’m from Texas!

Hey!
I have been hanging around on the forum for a while now, so i thought i would just introduce myself very quickly.
My name is Benedikt I´m 16 and from Germany. I just started YoYoing in early 2013 and had quite a lot of downtime where I was not able to yoyo at all. I gues I m at about half a year of actually play.
My favorite throw right now is the Duncan Barracuda(bought i before it was used to win worlds, but just a few hours earlier since I bought it there xD) and my MYY T5.
I gues its hard to say how “good” you are since everyones definition is different, I would call myself “intermediet” what ever that means ;).
Spirit Bomb, Rancid Milk, Superman… those are 3 of the harder tricks i learned in the last 2 weeks, so that might be kind of a way to tell where I´m at right now.

So thats it from me  have fun yoyoing, really enjoying the forum so far!

btw, awesome to see another yoyoer/cuber  i picked up cubing a little after yoyoing, my 3x3 best is 23,4s also i have some bigger puzzles (5x5 and 7x7 as an example) and some complicated stuff like the mastermorphix… good to see someone with my two biggest hobbys

I guess I should start with my name. I am Geramy Hudson. I have been into yo-yos since about the 6th grade (currently 3rd year of college), but never got too in depth with them until here recently. My favorite Yo-yo is most likely my Hyperwarp Heavy Wing (2nd gen Hyperwarp), but I also throw a Raider. I don’t particularly know about other brands other than Yomega, so that is what I have a case full of. I am very willing to try new brands, but I am not too certain where to start. Help is always welcome, and I could use quite a bit if I do say so myself. Hopefully I can meet many new people on here, and maybe even some near me; I reside in South Carolina. Glad to finally have an outlet for this built up desire to talk all things yo-yo. lol

For expanding your throw inventory with a wider variety of brands, you first must know what you want.
Bang for your buck? Probably magic yo
Can’t go wrong quality? Check out OD and CLYW
Looping? YYF

And of course there are so many GREAT brands. But these are a few of the ‘safe’ brands

And if you have other random Qs I’d be happy to do my best to answer them

Try pm’ing jupdyke. A little while back he offered to machine for almost free

After signing up a month ago, I may as well introduce myself.

My username is raiyoken and i have been throwing for about half a year, and its been a great 6 months. I started when I saw my friend throwing during golf practice and it seemed like fun. So I picked up a Metal Drifter at a local Toys R’ Us, and here I am today. Hopefully I’ll be around the forums more often, and that’s about it.

welcome! The metal drifters a pretty fun throw. Is it your current throw? Or have you since upgraded?

It is a really fun throw, but I gave it to my little bro. Since then, I have upgraded to a summit and a shutter. I never thought I’d be spending this much on a hobby :stuck_out_tongue:

A summit and a Shutter isn’t too bad

People spend a lot more on it. And if you think about it, in comparison it’s not really that much

Hahaha definitely when you compare to photography or radio controlled cars, planes, or helicopter.

Ikr. Here’s an example:

No hobbyist (one with no hobby): “people waste money on so much silly stuff. I buy food, shelter, water, and electricity”

Yoyoist: “I bought $500 worth of yoyos and supplies, and feel self conscious about it.”

Hardcore photographer: “I bought 1 $500 lens, a titanium tripod ($100), a unipod (ya’ know, the tripod but with one leg) ($30), another camera ($300), and 3 extra batteries ($100?). And it’s cool. Photography’s a hobby”

R/C car hobby person: “Yerba I got r/c stuff (cars, batteries, controllers) ($1,000). And r/c cars are a hobby”

So you see. Yoyoing money isn’t wasted. Nor is the other hobbies. So don’t feel bad  (and can you tell I know more about photography than r/c :D)

It’s cool you like to paint yoyos. And if your passionate about it, I encourage you to continue with it  Doing something with yoyos, besides throwing, is always great fun! And is it possible to see an example of your work? I like seeing custom paint jobs, they’re all so unique!

Chrisgamer: it’s nice to have you! I’ll be looking forward to seeing you around the forums! And I’m sure you will become a great yoyo master =)

RC Cars usually run on Nitro gas, I know someone who had one, it hit 40+mph

I’ve seen 100+ MPH little rc cars.
