Introduce Yourself!

Well hello. I’m Kevin and I have been yoyoing for as long as I can remember. It’s been a major part of my life and I’m trying to get myself back into the social scene of it!

hi everybody :D.i’m the first yoyo player in Vietnam.i played yoyo 6 years ago.nice to meet u guys

What’s up guys, I had some fun a couple of years back just messing about with yoyos, picked one back up about a month ago and found that I really enjoyed it… still ;)… I live in England, but I still get some stuff from here. It’d be nice to get to know some yoyoers, because some of my friends think it’s a bit of a joke.

It’d be great to get into the social scene of yoyoing!

Hi all!

I picked up a Yomega… something brain something… at a Toys R Us, whipped out a few old chestnuts, and then checked on YouTube to see what people are doing for string tricks. I seriously had no idea the YoYo world was like this now. I used to think Tom Smothers was the epitome of amazing yoyo.

Since Ottawa doesn’t have anything (that I’m aware of) for modern yoyos, I grabbed another Yomega (a Raider? Ball bearing at least) and started looking for what I need to begin learning some 1a play.

Stumbled across YYE during that search. Still don’t know what yoyo to get. Don’t know how to do a bind, but it seems that nobody uses responsive yoyos for string tricks. Or am I wrong?

$35 isn’t the end of the world, so I’ll probably end up with a Protostar, but we’ll see.

Cheers from a slightly crusty not-so-young dude who wants to throw like the kids.

Hello, my name is Red from the Philippine Republic.

My favorite throws are the YYF Starlite, YYF Protostar, and YYF Dv888.
I might get a YYJ Chaser by next week.

Two years of experience and memeber of Filyo (Filipino Yoyo Club).

That’s all. Cheers!

Hey guys I’m Ken, im pretty new to this but have a basic knowledge of yo-yoing and am very excited to be part of a website like this one!

Not exactly new but back again after a few years. School and paintball stole me away but I’m back! I mean yoyoing is just way more fun and cool (not to mention less expensive xD) so I’m sticking to it!

Welcome back dude!
Noticed your last post was on Nov 10, 2010.
You have been gone a while.

Hello i am re introducing my self but my name is Trevor im 13 and live in mn my goal for yoyoing is to wind my states yoyo and meet other yoyoers bye!!! ;D

where do you live in mn?

I am in my second childhood, since I am 69 years old. I find several problems.
I am working with Raider EX. I get most basic tricks to work. But, with forward pass, the yoyo tends to sleep in about 1/4 of the time. That is, the yoyo is not responsive enough… I suppose one needs several yoyos with different responses. For a beginner, is there a book that describes yoyos, tricks and yoyo set up in detail?

If you go into the learn section on this website you can learn everything you need to know about yoyos.

I’m 15 and live in near OKC, Oklahoma. I started seriously getting into yoyoing about 3 years ago when I watched a John Ando video. My interest waned after about a year and a half. By then I knew most of the expert and master tricks on this site. I am recently picking up the hobby again.

hi everyone. my name is christian. im 22 and im going to graduate college in the winter. i regained my interest in yoyoing after youtube surfing for a couple hours today. i managed to end up on some yyf videos and was amazed. i have yoyoed before, but something about watching them made me want to learn more other than around the world and stuff. so today, i ordered a yyf whip and im hoping to start learning some new tricks once i get it in a few days. binding looks difficult, but im sure ill get it with practice.

Haha yeah it’s been a while like I said. Glad to be bak though.

Hi, I’m Jesse. New to the forum, but I’ve been yoyoing for about 2 years, now (I used to be on YYN, but I recently noticed that it has apparently disappeared, for whatever reason, which is pretty much why I am here, tbh).

So, some general stuff about me: I’m 17, in addition to yoyoing, I am also into photography, guitar, piano, juggling, digital art (which is something I am pretty new to, at the moment), listening to music at “dangerous” volumes ;D (mostly classic/prog rock, metal, and alternative, with lots of other genres mixed in), and caring for my 7 hermit crabs and almost 30 fish (in 3 aquariums, the largest of which is 225 gallons).

As for the yoyo-related stuff, like I said, I’ve been at it for a couple years, now, although I’d just consider myself an intermediate player. I generally just do it for fun and relaxation, so I am not really one to focus much on technical skills, or learning some of the more complex tricks (although I would like to, eventually). Most of what I do is just simple variations/combinations of tricks like McBride’s Roller Coaster, Kwijibo, The Matrix, and a couple different whips I’ve learned from watching youtube tutorials. Enough to impress the average person, but not anything particularly difficult. I currently have 5 yoyos: DM2, DV888, Genesis+, Popstar, and my main throw, SPYY Ronin, and I just ordered a One Drop Code 2, today. So… yeah, that’s pretty much all I can think of to say about myself.
