Introduce Yourself!

Howdy Everyone! I’m the Doctor.

About a year ago, my daughter somehow came across an old wooden yoyo. For a good while she struggled with it, just trying to get it to go up and down on the string. On a regular basis she would complain to me that she needs a new yoyo. For a while I humored her until eventually she pestered me enough that we sat down and started looking on the internet. That was May this year. All I knew about was Duncan - I had no idea yoyoing is what it is these days. So we headed to the Duncan website. Like I said, not knowing a thing about yoyos I was a little overwhelmed seeing all the different types available. She ended up with the Wheels and I got a Mosquito. Then it all changed. I started reading and learning what I could about yoyos, the different types, strings, tricks, bearings, you know the routine. About a month into it, she knotted up her string and kind of lost interest. She wanted to do the stuff I was learning with mine. Granted, it was just a Mosquito, but when you’re desperate, you can make almost anything work.
So finally, last week, I picked up a Lyn Fury and some new string, turned the Mosquito over to my daughter and there is happiness in the universe once again.

I guess the short of the story is that I have lots of things I do with my son and I wanted something that just me and my daughter could do together. Yoyoing is it. I love it and we’re having a blast learning together. Neither of us is very good yet but that doesn’t keep us from trying.

I’m really impressed with this site and love all the video tutorials. I’ve been watching them over and over. Andre does a great job at explaining and keeping things simple. Some day I’d like to meet him, maybe get some tips from him. Anyway, its nice to be here and hopefully sometime I’ll get to meet some of you! 8)

It’s good to see another father Yoyoing with their children. I too yoyo with two of mine.
Where about do you live? There yoyo get together all over the world.

Hope you like this site!

Aloha,

My name is Hans Baker. I’m from San Diego, CA. I’ve been yoyoing about 2.5 years now. I’ve been on the yoyonation forums for a while, and I used to post there often, but I don’t get on the forums much anymore because of school and stuff. Anyways, thought I’d introduce myself here. I’m 20 years old and go to college at Sacramento State University. I am a proud member of the Madhouse Syndicate.

My favorite yoyos are the Madhouse Epic, Madhouse 5150, Madhouse Lucky 7, Werrd Irony, and CLYW Sasquatch

You can check out some of my videos at youtube.com/hiimhanshuru

I’ll probably pop my head up here from time to time. If anyone has questions or needs help with yoyo tricks, I’m happy to help with that sort of stuff. I’ve never made a tutorial video but I think I’m capable, so if people want to learn stuff, let me know.

Peace,
-Hans Baker

Hello my name is Walter, and sometimes yoyoing is really hard for me because i am lefty :-. well my favorite yo-yo is the dark magic 2 , and my favorite trick is the trapeze and i started yoyoing in 2007 when i went to a party they gave me a little bag. in their it was a yo-yo and then i was fascinated with yo-yos .

i am a lefty too. trust me its easier to be a lefty because when you watch andre, he is a righty. and your a lefty, like me. you can do a mirror form of the trick. so its easier. (also to be a lefty in yoyoing is amazing!!)

One of the best yoyoers in the world is a lefty. Adam Brewster is AWESOME!
