Hi everyone! My name is Max. I live in Boston, and I also juggle and unicycle.
I’m coming back to yo-yoing after not really doing it for the last 15 years. I’m excited to see what’s new!
I originally learned to yo-yo in 2009 after reading an article prophesying a resurgence of the late 90s yo-yo craze (it happens every 10 years, they said!). Aiming to be the coolest kid on campus, I spent every free minute for the next year learning 1A tutorials from this site. I got pretty good, and while yo-yoing never soared to the heights of its former popularity, I think I found something even more valuable. Also, one time, a girl at a frat party made out with me after I showed her ladder escape, so that was pretty sick too.
I do mostly 1A and some 2A. My main throws are my YoYoFactory Grind Machine, and my Mighty Flea, which I carry everywhere I go
Hi - Tony from New Mexico here - I’m 61 & Happy to be throwing again. The Peter Fish Luminator is still my go to, but I’ve picked up the Origen & it’s fantastic! No string tricks, just smooth hop the fence type stuff & a few loops does it for me. Never hear of TK before, now I have 3. I just emailed Brad about a “000” 2024 Light Elements Pocket Rocket I just bought from him. Seems it might be a master proof, but that’s an ai search. Anywho, very cool little community ya got going here - Howdy
Howdy - i was born in Battle Creek - burb of St. Paul
Hi Tony! Welcome to the zoo. ![]()
Funny how some of us are picking the yo back up after a few years off. I’ve always liked to throw occasionally but these days it’s a real sanity-saver.

definitely agree bud! Desperate times calls for desperate measures. I’m glad to be among friends at times like these!
name: kb from chicago suburbs. played in my youth with the a fireball, power spin, and novelty scorpion thing. snagged a silly one from my daughters goodie bag and was enthralled again. in february bought:
magicyoyo v3
fireball
magicyoyo k2.
been loving it since. acquired quite a few and just yesterday bought the shortcut and fulvia last night bc I had a good performance review. kind of converting my obsession with DHV gadgets to yoyos. been really appreciating this forum as an alternative to reddit. thank you.
Hey kb - just got here myself. Don’t know about you, but this is just what I needed. What a cool space. Have a good 1 - tony
Hi, My name is John. Favorite tricks is Sleeper and Walk the Dog. I have a few limited edition yo-yo’s for sale if anyone is interested. You can browse all my active listings here: jocor-8017 on eBay
I would like to know where to find bearings and spacers for these things too… I have a Dragonfly that was left outside at some point and ruined the brake pads and rusted the metal. Found brake pads and put a wood sleeve on it from another yo yo, but would like to put a bearing back in it. Plus there are so many models with wood sleeves or transaxles that could be upgraded to bearings if I knew where to get the right sizes…
I thought I had it figured out once… I took the bearings and spacers out of a Duncan Speedbeetle that had wore out response pads. I believe the bearing was the right size, but the spacers were slightly too narrow.
What’s up guys! I am the magical wizard of yo.
I started throwing in the Enchanted Forest, but eventually moved to Washington State and I believe it will be my permenant settlement.
I love all things yoyo, and engulfed into the whimsical community behind it.
Btw, it’s pronounced Wizard of Thr-OZ
Welcome!
Also, Electric Wizard rules!
Yes! Love em!
Hello my name is Conner im in my late 30s, lived in Tucson, Az my whole life and started yoyo’ing in the 90’s during the boom.i have been throwing on and off since then but took a long hiatus in my teens and early adulthood. I started off with duncan’s, spintastics hummingbird,BC yoyo, tom kuhn yoyo and playmaxx proyo. I Remember when the bumblebee hit the market. i remember dale olivers videos along with the yoyozone videos, fast eddy mcdonald videos, smother brothers. I remember not being able to obtain a cold fusion, or any of the BMT KCMO yoyo’s ;they seemed legendary and more rare than the silver bullet ,at the time. I remember the crazy amount of yoyojam coming out and the Dark magic being another unattainable yoyo back then. Currently i try to play 0a,1a, 5a and some variations of those in a couple trick circle groups on insta. Glad to be a part of this page ,thanks!
