Hi everyone,

My name is McKay, I am a college student studying manufacturing engineering and for one of my projects we designed and cnc machined a yoyo. I knew nothing about yo-yos at the time and in my research I decided it sounded like a fun hobby, bought a YYF Whip and I have gotten a couple of Magicyoyos since then. Lately I have also gotten into Spin Tops. I am currently designing and 3: printing one for a school project. Excited to be here!

Thanks! The responsive system I designed kinda sucked so they are ā€œsemi responsiveā€ (aka crappy:joy:) wish I could redo the project with the knowledge I have now!

i mean that sounds like it would be some ppl’s exact jam :man_shrugging: semi responsive means ā€œget crazy with it, but still do a flyaway at the endā€ :call_me_hand:

Hello, my name is Michael, I’m 31 and I’ve been throwing since 2006. I like to go to competition and compete, but also like to collect throws. I have a tiktok where I post tricks and an Instagram where I do the same thing

Hi All, good to have found an amazing forum. I am Jeff. I just found my old bumblebee which i used to play when i was a kid. Now i want to breathe a new life to it. As it seems everything needs an overhaul change like bearings, spacer and break pads. For the life of me i do not have ruler at home. Would anyone be kind enough to tell me whats the bearing size for this bumblebee or link me the specific bearing size? also i do not now know what spacer it uses?

Good thing I have found the new breakpads for it

Long time lurker, finally making an account. Given my shy nature, I’ll still mostly lurk.

Been throwing since last century. Just for me. No contests, no videos. When life gets stressful, I pick up a yo-yo.

Never been around anyone else who throws, which is too bad because I would probably learn much faster with the synergy.

I play nonresponsive, have a soft spot for fixed axles, and always secretly want to get into 5a but have struggled to do so.

hey welcome! despite what it may appear here, i too battle extreme shyness and a desire to interact with smaller groups. you’re def among friends here whatever level of engagement you choose and if you ever have questions or just wanna rap about yoyos and tricks, my dm box is always open!:victory_hand::vulcan_salute:

Hey all.

Returning from years ago before the new forum. I have been yoyoing my whole life. Even though I mostly suck, I still love it. Really digging fixed axel and modern responsive throws lately. Hard to beat a no jive.

Hi, all. I’m Lenny. I’m dipping my toes back into the world of yoyo’s after a 40+ year absence. My experience dates back to the early 1970’s, when the coolest thing in the world was a Duncan Butterfly! I won the Northeast Ohio Regional Duncan Yoyo contest in 1975 (14 - 18 year old division  ), and continued throwing through college, but then life (and video games) got in the way. Flash forward to 2026, I’ve lived a full life and in my retirement I have joined a woodworking club that makes toys for underprivileged children and infirm adults. I made a batch of yoyos last year as my contribution, and I found Andre’s site when I went looking for quality strings. I am beyond amazed at what the simple wooden toy of my youth has evolved into! It’s both fascinating and intimidating to me, but I’m not surprised to see such a broad and deep group of aficionados. I’m mostly here looking for advice on which components I could incorporate into my classic wooden toys to make them a better product, but look forward to scanning all the topics and maybe even buying myself a modern marvel. Thanks for this sharing this window into the world of yoyos with me!
