Welcome to the forums @Younglife12 and @GTDropKnot!!!
Hey friends,
I have been yoyoing for over a year now and have been lurking. Just created an account as i really want to participate in the BST as I see some really nice throws for sale.
My EDC is a looper 720 as its easy to pocket and use with one hand while shopping. At home I love to throw an Atmos Stormberry or Thesis Paladin. Really digging the organic shaped throws and want to try some others.
Hoping to build some cred quickly to pm some folks about their throws for sale. This is a great resource thanks YYE and mods for doing the hardwork.
Hello! My name is Dave and I also do Nerf, guitar, video games, and collect toys when I am not Yoyo’ing.
Welcome to the forums @CatFoodScience and @LeDave!
Welcome!! If you like your Stormberry give Noah or Abel a go! Such floaty fun. While I throw Abel more, I might suggest Noah just for the side effects. You can really dial in the feel you’re looking for. You’re going to need a MCMO too!!
Hello, my name is Kevin! I am new to yoyoexpert but have been yoyoing for almost 20 years on and off. I used to be a member of the Yoyonation forums as spyderman28 before leaving the hobby around 2010. While finishing grad school I became interested in yoyos again and have been lurking for a while, so I figured now is the time to make an account. Currently living in Montreal, so if any other throwers live around here please reach out! Happy to finally join a community again. A photo of some of my collection below!
Welcome! Glad you’re here! Nice collection!
nice collection there. Dif-E-Yo top shelf & center, as they should be…

Enjoy the throw my friends

Greetings, pal! I love those thin metal stands.
Mind if I ask what you went to school for?
Hi All
Name’s Jack, but you can call me Jeaves
I’m a mid twenties thrower from England,
not too many tricks but I like to think I have decent flow on the ones I know
my collection is about a dozen throws including mainly YYF and OD throws
In addition to yoyos I like juggling, photography, and extreme sports like mountian biking, kayaking, and rock climbing
look forward to chatting from now and no longer lurking, hope to meet a few of you at uk nats later this year
cheers,
Jeaves
Thanks! Came up with the design after a lot of trial and error with some rubber coated fence wire. Super cheap and effective and I can bend them to fit each yoyo exactly - I can post a guide and more details if there is interest.
I studied experimental medicine and my doctoral thesis was on T cells and hypertension. With COVID lockdowns and work from home I found yoyos to be a welcome distraction. I’m very happy to join a community again
defo should post a guide, or maybe just some more pics up close,
love to see a novel display method
Wonderful collection and welcome back. I too love your stands. Are they homemade or something else? Thanks.
Edit. Oops, I see your response now. Very cool. I’d love to see a guide.
been here for a little bit but i guess i should introduce myself, I’m Evan and i have been yoyoing for about 1.3 years. i am a kid from Canada, my hardest trick is the 2.5 hook and polo’s tower whip.
Hi, everyone. I logged into the forums to seek information for my 9-year-old son who’s teaching himself to yoyo. We’ve started with a Duncan Imperial, and he’s definitely interested in trying different types of yoyos and learning tricks. We’re located near Nacogdoches, Texas, and would love to find a group of throwers in the area or in Deep East Texas.
Imperial is a blast to play with but the narrow string gap makes unresponsive play super-precise. Either way I know there are a couple of throwers in Texas on here although if memory suits me they are closer to Austin.
Either way I would show him the Yoyoexpert tricks site (click the dropdown menu and go to the “learn” section) or go to Youtube and look up Yo Tricks, which is the source I use to learn most of my tricks. Either way welcome to the forum!
Imperial is a great intro to yoyos. If he is interested in learning more tricks, the Imperial will be a limiting factor.
If you can, get him a Snap Back to venture further into yoyo. He can get into level 2 of the Yoyo Expert trick list with it.
Both my 7 year old and 9 year old are playing with this and working on Level 1.
Also pick up some extra strings while you are at it. My kids seem to chew through them sometimes.
There is a lot more to this rabbit hole, you are just peaking down now. With the above, you can get started without falling in too soon.
Have fun
Hey all! I’m Thea! I’m currently living in the Cincinnati, OH area. I was interested in Yo-yos as a kid back in the late 90’s but I never really knew how to get into it, so I kinda forgot about it until last year around the time Brisket released in Guilty Gear Strive. At that point, I decided to order a yo-yo and start learning what I could; which turned out to not be much on account of some unfortunately timed life events. I’m hoping to get back into it and actually get decent at this thing soon, though!
Welcome! Sounds like you’re someone who will learn quickly!
