I have a couple and I don’t think the Battosai design has held up as well as the Skywalkers tbh. Maybe titanium would alleviate that by eliminating a lot of center weight, but it has the same issue as most undersized yo-yos, a lot of weight in a small area.
If the walker and Vayder are pretty much identical shape someone who has both should try doing a blind test
I think this could be a cool concept if someone made yoyos with an identical catchzone but different cup.
Are we talking actual blindfold? Or are we talkin just a general honors system, I’m really not going to pay attention to which one I’m throwing?
A very dim room of shadowy outlines with no yoyo examination, just attach string without looking pick up and go just might work.
I think the dentists of America would love for us to play titanium yo-yos blindfolded…
You’re saying it changed color?
But didn’t it come in a dark box?
I’m down for actual blindfold
Yo we should have a blindfold freestyle forum contest lmao
Well guys, I just figured this out:
https://reddit.com/r/Throwers/comments/c736di/psa_the_grey_tivayder_seems_to_form_some_sort_of/
I gave it a couple of days of use to try and give the most realistic opinion on it that I can, and now I’m here to say that I understand the hype.
Do I think it’s the best yoyo ever? Not necessarily. Does it deserve its spot on the Mount Rushmore of yoyos? I believe it does.
The more I use it, the more I enjoy it. If you haven’t gotten one yet and are on the fence about it, I’d urge you to grab one.
$140 for any Ti is bonkers, let alone a remake of one of the most popular and sought after yoyos of all time.
I expect this to be a favorite of mine for a very long time. I doubt I’ll get rid of it anytime soon, If ever.
I feel the same way man.
Nice pull on the #393 cuz 3x3=9
Thanks, I noticed that earlier!
haha yes my tiVayder number is related to something Star Wars
I think I’m right there with you. This one is staying in my rotation for awhile.
It feels like @HVizier really knew how to design with titanium in mind.
I’m basically where you’re at. Considering how far removed from my optimum specs it is it’s incredible how much I love playing with it. It’s a lot more stable than I anticipated and it’s very light on the string without feeling hollow or lacking presence.
I definitely understand the hype for it after being skeptical how the design would hold up after all these years. I was making a lighthearted remark and feeding the hype train for fun earlier when I said it would make every new yo-yo release look worse in comparison, but i really don’t feel the need to get anything around this size after this.
However it doesn’t change my preferences in any way and I’ll still be picking up the yo-yos I have that match those as often or more often than the TiVayder. That being said, it will probably be my go to for taking with me when I go out for a while, as it is by far the best yo-yo I own that isn’t cumbersome to lug around.
Edit: also wanted to add it makes a couple of my favorites feel a little slow in comparison. I just have large hands and 53mm to me is like 50 to someone else, so the size is really my main complaint.
TLDR: incredible throw, stands the test of time and I could easily see why those who prefer slightly undersized yo-yos would claim this is the best yo-yo they’ve ever played, but if it doesn’t match your preferences then you’re not going to see it that way.
I guess the only way to see if it’s a fluke or not is to design another Ti yoyo…
A 56mm Ti-Vayder would be an instant purchase for me.
Yeah like I said above my only complaint is size. I wouldn’t change anything about how it plays.
It’s wild to think about how much I’d love it if it was a full sized yoyo. I think I would basically use it exclusively.
