If you can give them information , aka do the investigation for them they will go knock on a door for you. A lot of times for them they are just chasing what is easy to make their stats look better .

Dude I just read this thread and all you’ve tried to do is shame people and make them feel bad and then gloat every step of the way. For some people $140 is a fair bit of money and you saying otherwise screams privilege. If you aren’t going to help then stop trying to cause problems. It’s people like you that help to give this community a bad name instead of a good one. From the beginning all you’ve pointed out is people’s mistakes, get off your high horse and either help or leave

Lol. Well, if y’all want to be mad at me, I don’t mind because I know I’m right. It’s impossible to sugarcoat the truth sometimes. This entire thread, I’ve felt like a parent who’s telling a child not to stick a fork in a electrical socket, and then watching them blame the socket for shocking them.
Why do I feel that way? Because I have seen so many of these exact “I got scammed” posts I’ve lost track. People engaging in really dumb transactions because greed got the better of them – that’s exactly what a scammer is going to prey on. I’m sick of seeing these threads when they are so easily preventable.
You know why these scammers are successful over and over? It’s because you’re allowing them be successful. Prove me wrong.
The reality here is that a whole lot of you are naive. You are naive. No way around it. And instead of owning up to that fact and fixing it, you have these ridiculous pity parties for yourselves and conjure up these fantasies about teaching the scammer a lesson they’ll never forget. It ain’t happening.
Despite what you may think, what I wrote in every instance was intended to be helpful – even if you took it as “mean” or offensive. Sometimes there’s just no other way to state the truth and I feel bad about that. All I’m really trying to offer here is the perspective of reality which I think is sorely lacking. Many of you are acting as a sympathetic shoulder to cry on and that’s wonderful, but a bunch of you are giving this guy false hope, HORRIBLE advice, and you’re sending him on a wild goose chase and in some instances encouraging him to potentially break laws.
This thread should have been an instructional guide on how to prevent this from happening to yet another person. Instead some of you have engaged in a witch-hunt focused on trying to shame a scammer (who clearly has no problem breaking the law) to repent and now it’s meandered into attacking me. Here’s the ugly truth: when all is said and done, you’re not going to be able to shame or scare the scammer into returning the goods – even if you figure out who they are and where they are. All you can really do at this point is serve as yet ANOTHER cautionary tale to other people (which I’m confident will go unheeded as the next one of these threads inevitably pops up in a couple months).
Y’all can be mad at me, but you know I’m not wrong. Nothing I’ve said has been wrong. Truth may not be important to you, but it’s important to me.
Let’s recap:
- Don’t trust a stranger on the internet when you are giving them money.
- The only person that can protect you in a transaction is you.
- Doxxing people isn’t cool.
- Repeated calls for mob justice isn’t cool.
Just because somebody ripped you off, does not mean suddenly anything goes, which is the attitude alot of you have adopted. It’s obviously wrong and frankly scary.
Try to learn from your mistakes so you don’t repeat them.

I’d just make sure you go PayPal goods and services every single time in the future.
Feel super bad for your loss. Only thing I’d recommend is trying to let the rage and stress go. File the police report if you feel so inclined, and then just get back to enjoying life.
Not really any point going back and forth on anything beyond following the above in my opinion.

No one said your advice wasn’t correct, it’s the fact that you’ve been condescending in every interaction on here man. Maybe if enough people are frustrated with you you’re the problem. Yeah people made mistakes, but instead of trying to have a good and honest conversation you were rude and talked down to people. Idk how old you are but at 24 I know that’s not the right way to treat people

Seriously though dude, YOU sound like the child here. Your posts consistently come across unbelievably narcissistic and you sound like a miserable, incredibly insufferable person to be around. No matter how right you may actually be, it’s how you convey your message that matters. When you have several different people telling you that the way you’re coming across is… rough, to say the least… maybe reevaluate. I suggest you take a break from this thread (and tbh, the forums) and let the people who got scammed discuss how they can possibly get their money back.
