I recently bought a metal drifter, pretty much only an hour old doing some 5A for the first time, not used to binding with a counterweight, the yoyo pulls the counterweight out of my hand, and the yoyo goes flying all the way across the room and hits the concrete fireplace!! I just figure dinging yoyos is inevitable. Sometimes I’ll forget to take off my ring and it’ll end up scratching the paint off my Sasquatch. Oh well.
What the heck? I just dinged my Hectic because of it being extremely responsive, and I got this strong sulfur smell! Why does that happen??
Metal. I ask myself how it happened

I analyse the ding, trying to find out what mistake I made that caused me to get that ding, before telling myself, to try not to repeat it again.

With yo-yos (and anything else I own) I like to keep them looking brand new. I’m a little OCD about it. So, when I ding feel one of my yo-yos hit something (floor, wall, random objects) I cringe. I always get a little frustrated at myself for a little bit, but I always just start throwing again after a minute or two. Dings happen when you yo-yo frequently, especially when you’re in a cluttered area (like every room in my house). Most of my throws are ding-free though, so it’s not a huge deal.
I think about how it will affect the trade value. XD
But honetsly, live and let ding.
