If I were to ding one of my CLYW’s (it hasn’t happened yet) I’d probably get this terrible sick feeling in my stomach. I would then proceed to put the Yo-Yo down and try and remember the wonderful days when it wasn’t dinged.
I am usually fairly accepting of my dings/scratches/flat spots because I wear a tungsten carbide wedding band and I am left handed. If you don’t want dings then either buy Polycarbonate yoyos or don’t play with them. Back when I considered myself a collector (not anymore) I would buy two of each yoyo I ordered, one for display and the other for play. IT gets expensive but hey at least you have the peace of mind, right?
For anybody who thinks he might be lying, I threw that MG in Chico in 2009. I distinctly remember thinking, and maybe saying, “playing 5A with an MG is something I didn’t foresee in my day when I woke up this morning.”
I used to get upset when I dinged yos. I don’t now though. I usually say a swear word or two and keep playing. No big. It doesn’t matter to me anymore.
Thats how I’m starting to feel. Once it has too many dings just get a new one. Only get mad if its discontinued or something. The dings make the yoyo more yours. Kind of like buying a car instead of leasing it you can do what you want with it ;D Mines leased >:(
I dinged my campfire, which had a slight vibe, and then it was completely smooth. I mean SILENT. Of course, it didn’t have that amazing CLYW color pattern that most do, so… Well, I really don’t mind dinging yoyos anyways. Unless, of course, someone took my hypothetical 28 stories peak and walked the dog around my driveway, drove over it, and left it outside during acid rain for a week.
I start slapping myself in teh face and scream WHYYYY!!!
And all those pics are nothing comapred to what i did to my dv888,i was yoyoing at the bustop and it slipped from a bind and diiiing in the floor
well if its an all metal yoyo then i curse if no authority figure is near by.
i like keeping my yoyos in good shape, but if they get dinged they get dinged.
doesn’t mean i love them any less.
