How do you decide what throws to sell?

Darn! I bet you’ll find one in the strangest place, like at a garage sale or some thrift store… mark my words!!

Good luck in your search, man.

I’m extremely selective on Yo-Yo purchases. I’ve sold two. Both redundant to a niche in my modest collection. YYF Moonshine 2 and a ZGRT Poly El Mio. Desirable throws that another player could enjoy and appreciate.

So to answer the question - All three stated reasons. With exception of value not so much $$$, but value as in desirable due to popularity but lack of market availability.

As far as giving way (what I can remember) -

9 - Duncan Butterfly XT (neighbor kids for Halloween),
6 - YYF Loop 360 (random gifts),
2 - Duncan Butterfly (friends),
YYT Origen (friend),
YYF Shutter & Duncan Metal Racer (Yo-Yo Archive donation).

I dont usually sell.

If I do, its to someone looking for what I have.

I got into this mode where when I bought a new yoyo I bought one to play and one to save.

After some time, some of these yoyos dont get a lot of play time. So If someone is looking, I have one, and dont need a back up, I move it down the road

Sometimes for me it just comes down to bills.

I made the worst decision ever regarding yoyos, 2 years ago. Sometimes taking care of the fam takes priority though. But I love my fam more than yoyos. I sure do miss these though.

If a couple yoyos have similar specs but Im always only ever reaching for one of them the others can go. I dont do this by shape like all organics but more like “organic 56mm floaty throws”.

My main problem nowadays has become: I rarely play this yoyo. But when I play it I like it a lot. Does one sell that?

Yes. If I don’t play a yoyo there’s probably a good reason. Then if you sell it and regret it you know it was meant to be yours

The ones that give me the fuzziest feeling inside stay with me.

I just give them away them I realize they aren’t getting love.

If I look at a yoyo and think “meh” it’s time to let it go.

Marie Kondo style. “Does this bring me joy?” If not, it gets added to a box without a string on it.

After so long never getting strung up, it’s doomed to get tossed, trashed, given away, or sold.

Dude, my mom has probably watched every episode of that show at least 3 times, I just wish I could retain some of the stuff, lol. I can never remember how to fold a shirt right.
