haha the amount of good playing yoyos can be overwhelming when you’re trying to figure out which one to pick up next.
Welcome to your new found obsession! lol
I don’t think I’d pick up a Magpie as my first yo TBH. There’s just way too many options in that price range. Don’t get me wrong! It’s a fantastic yo and plays as well as anything…it’s just not my favorite (that sounds like I’m slamming the Magpie, but I’m not meaning to! lol)
–EDIT–
Actually I’m going to take that back. For some reason I was thinking the Magpie was $75…but it’s only $65 and at that price range, I really don’t have anything that performs and feels as good as my Magpie.
I agree with something @codinghorror said earlier, that at this point there’s so many great yos out there that you mine as well just pick something that looks appealing to you.
To be fair I am already happy with the yoyofriends Dove so unfairly ruling them out for the second yoyo (first newage metal). Kind of feels bad man for making too many good yoyos I know, sorry yoyofriends, but I love the dove
@codinghorror do you mind if I ask how many grey Ti-Vayders are left if you don’t mind?
So I can plan ahead accordingly and don’t get too many in one go, but also don’t miss out?
If you said like 1 I would totally believe you and pull the trigger but hoping I have a little time left
Also might be worth pointing out, that (at least right now) grinds aren’t a priority or at all to be honest for me.
Maybe I change my mind next time, but dove handles this good enough and I never really grinded (although finger grind is new to me so looking forward to learning that on my dove), so for this metal yoyo, grind factor doesn’t need to be a consideration if that makes any difference in your suggestions
Edit -
Nor horizontals either for a very long time, lol but i think that went without saying after that video
Those are the only two video reviews, yeah. Mega thanks to Mazda for his really thorough test of it.
The other big video with the Diffraction is one that my sponsored player, Jack, made:
The release was pretty small so there isn’t quite enough out there to get the number of reviews you might be hoping for. That’s fine though! Someday I might be big enough to get that kind of traction.
Finally, (before I got to sleep) one more question.
I am currently as you might have guessed leaning on VTWO I’m brown most likely or gold.
What string colours would work well with that in your experiences?
I am looking at the plutonium strings by YYSL.
I have added lemon lime / cotton candy / blood red to my basket for now. Might get some neon yellow. What else? Would love to try some mixed colours too but hard to imagine what goes well with brown (or gold).
Plutonium might be a little thick for One Drops. One Drops are already pretty tight and snappy when it comes to binds, so I don’t think Plutonium will necessarily be the best choice. However, Type X is great. I think neon orange would look great with brown, and just about any color except maybe yellow would look good with gold.
I would suggest looking at 2sickyoyos. I have been playing the heck out of my flank, and have heard incredible things about both the Grandmaster and the endgame.
