Good titanium?

I had a Miracle for a while and ended up trading it. It was smooth when I got it but I bonked one of the plastic rings hard on my hand and could never re-seat them exactly correctly; so from then on it had some vibe. If you don’t mind variable vibe it does perform pretty nice, I just ended up spending more time fiddling with the rings than playing it. YMMV with this one I’ve heard a lot of good things about this throw. Maybe I needed to really ding it to fix it!

I think if you’re looking for performance you should go with something like CLYW Klondike or Yoyofriends Da Vinci. Turning Point Hades is my fave but 80g is not for everyone. The Save 3A Titan is also still available and that thing almost feels like Hades and Klondike got fused together in a teleporter accident. Sengoku Hideyoshi is another of my daily drivers. I had to polish the catch zone a little on the blue/pink cowprint looking finish to stop it from cutting strings but that yoyo rips. These are all the most stable and longest spinning yoyos I have and I love them all. Titanic is very good but throwing these bimetals hits different for me.

I also have not played it (yet) but I hear only good things about Duncan’s GTR-JS.

Don’t buy the miracle new. It bgrades itself by rim shifting every time you catch it.

Gtr-js is really good, I don’t get the hype until I tried it, super comfortable in hand and versatile in play. Other than that another Duncan throw I put on same level is Orbital GTX 1, since I prefer lighter version.

Getting back to titanium. Luftverk makes great stuff and iirc Jeffrey Pang has said that for performance he likes the Acadia and sort of considers it his signature yoyo.

Absolutely.

If you buy a $500 titanium expecting 10x the performance of the shutter, you’ll be disappointed.

Or even 5x the performance.

Titanium yo-yos are a “luxury” item. At the end of the day, what you get is a more exotic element on the end of your string, a cool ringing noise, and new weight distributions. Which are often fun as heck.

Even bimetal yo-yos are not necessarily the best for performance. Something that I’ve long wondered about, that Yoyofactory Ben confirmed is whether you can get superior performance out of a plastic/metal hybrid than a bimetal, because plastic is lighter, and allows for more rim weight.

The answer is “yes”. But plastic feels a little cheaper than metal, and is less durable. People want metal yo-yos.

At the end of the day, more expensive yo-yos don’t always perform better.

But we all love them anyway. Not many of us are so enlightened as to buy one good yo-yo and use it for years, when new/expensive yo-yos are just so SHINY!

C3 has hybrid, monometal, bimetal, and titanium variants of the same shapes. I’d love to compare them all.

I’ve only tried the Speedaholic FX but it’s very very good and feels high quality despite the plastic.

Does this happen to the Kim 23 too? It’s just a miracle without the brass rims, right?

Miracle is good at every thing and have its own unique character, but I think it is overpriced.

At $160 almost you can buy a Ti rims yoyo from yyfr.

If you really want to try the feeling of titanium, Ti rims yoyo are close to it, also performs very well and not expensive as a full titanium.

So does the miracle also

So does this happen to the Kim 23 too?

If you really care about vibes or wobbles, you should not go into yyf, sometimes they even occur in a brand new yoyo. Yyf’s a-grade standard is lower than other brand like yyfr and c3.
