I went back to the same store today and was happy to see the yoyos were restocked. I just recently traded away my Butterfly XT, but I was able to get one in the same colorway I had before.

Has anyone spotted any of the new Butterfly XTs at Walmart? I’ve not. Haven’t seen Pro Zs there in months either (man I love that yoyo if you can find it for $10).

Among non-yoyo stores, Target is the only store where I’ve seen Butterfly XTs for sale. Coincidentally, I just let go of an unopened Pro Z in the same trade I described above.

The last time I saw a Pro Z at my local Walmart was a little over a year ago. The hook sat empty for 3 months and the hook / spot for it was removed about 9 months ago. I’ve never seen an XT there and the Imperials and Butterflys are co-mingled on 2 hooks since they’re the same price. They had a bunch of Blazing Teens yoyos about 2 years ago in a completely separate aisle but I don’t think anyone bought them because they disappeared and were never restocked.

The new version of the Butterfly XT is way better than the Whip, IMO. I do like the Whip better than the old XT though. I also sent out a Whip in the very same trade I described above, lol.

I don’t actually know to be honest. 0a is something I’d like to get into someday but haven’t yet. Just going off of what I’ve heard from others.
If I were to recommend a yo for someone starting out, I’d for sure recommend a whip over an XT though (personally).

Feeling better about my situation today. Had a few good chats with yo-yo friends and a sponsored player who really helped me navigate the problem and come up with a plan to approach it. Still upset about the issue that exists within yoyoing as a whole, but maybe if I put enough work in I can serve as a resource for people dealing with a similar situation in the future.
If you’re super curious what that issue is feel free to dm me, but I don’t feel like rehashing it here where a convo can get derailed pretty easily.
Still going to go hard on 5a for a bit but now that I have a clear understanding of how to progress in a meaningful way in 1A I’m going to give that a shot and see where it goes.

Youtube video playback speed controls are my friend, so why do I always forget that and allow tricks to mystify me?
Seriously, it’s so easy to focus on that one problematic part of a trick, slow it down in youtube, analyze it, and then go back, change up the technique, try again, and hit it.

Frustrating kind of day here…can’t seem to throw straight at all, feeling like I just started to learn breakaway. This is frustrating…and my Masamini is reminding me that my side throw is wonky.
