hmm ok, i’ll see if my older brother has any. is a certain type i wanna use?

I honestly don’t know. I used the first thing I found on my local hardware store that said “epoxy”, “strong” and “safe for wood” lol.

You can use epoxy or Titebond II or Titebond III. When you apply the glue/epoxy only put it in the hole the axle goes in, don’t put it on the axle. Putting it on the axle will cause it to scrape off when inserted in the hole and will give you a glue/epoxy build up inside the yoyo on the axle. And only use a small amount, wipe it around the inside of the hole and remove any build up.

I typically throw some fix axle all week long and this week I’ve been throwing these TMBRs. The 2012 Fremont’s original walnut axle disintegrated, so I replaced it with an exotic Bubinga. The 2019 Irving is also hopped up with a maple Teal cap from a Carlson, but I also put in a 516 maple axle which really makes the response a lot snappier. I’m also back to Type-10 cottons as you can’t have to much of a good thing and waiting for a restock of [kot-n], not a bad thing as twenty (20)Type-10s equal one (1) [kot-n] when you talk price. However shredding wood is priceless.

CurlyMaple

I found a source for some really lovely maple pieces that have an absolutely beautiful curly pattern in the grain. “Curly Maple” is often used in flame-top guitars…so I had a few pieces that were too small to do anything else with, so I made this from some “scrap” I had. The effect isn’t quite caught on camera…but it’s almost a holographic effect after the finishing methods I use on the wood.

I have a few more boards of this as well that I’m thinking I might make some more with. Smooth as they come and really lovely in the sunlight.

I love curly flame on guitars too.

That oak looks great! I really want to pick one up soon.

@Glenacius_K I’m loving it. Pull starts are amazing on it. The take apart design you came up with is genius.
