1.5, Double or Nothing, Houdini, Triple or Nothing. Then try an 0A Rewind with stalls.

Thanks. Funny 1.5 feels like a sidestyle stopngo without hands on it

Playing with this hickory Yo-Yo I made. Turning hickory is like trying to turn rock. Tools were noticeably dulled after this one.

I am so terrible at Freext Haxle, but I can’t stop doing it.

Hickory is an interesting wood to turn. Some tools it doesn’t respond well to. Spindle gouges work fine, but I it HATES scrapers. I put my scraper up to the face of ot and nothing happened, but it was freshly sharpened. No other wood has done tbat before. I’ve only ever made hickory yoyos for @Myk_Myk though.

The grain of the wood in the side profile picture is spectacular - like a mirror image! Or more like ripples in a pond coming out from the center if the yoyo. Nicely done.

I love that yoyo, but have read that the raw wood version is kinda rough. Yours has the rubberized white coating, right? How do you like it?

Also, what is the purpose of the bead thing that your string is wrapped around?

I have three wings actually. The coated is my favorite to play. The raw one my wife customized for me with her and my son’s picture, and the clear coat one I painted poorly. Those two play just as well and I have not experienced them being rough in any way.

The bead is a counterweight!

Two of my all time favs!

I’ve heard “If you are lucky enough to live on the beach… You’re lucky enough.” Since last weeks drop was so hot I’m lucky enough today to be playing a Beech Spinworthy KNack. I’m stoked @Chainsawctopus got a signature as he is an inspirational player and @Glenacius_K executed it beautifully.

On of my favorite Kyle Nations videos;

I like to play as well

Spun up a silk string (experiment) and put it on this cool throw from @Glenacius_K

How’s the silk work on a fixie?! I made one a while back and hated it on unresponsive. Same with Rayon. Never even bothered to try on a fixie because I am dumb as heck.

It’s okay. Slicker than cotton, but rougher too. Seems to be maybe a little bit better spin time than cotton. Since silk doesn’t melt I thought I’d give it a try, but I’m not thrilled with it. I’m going to keep playing it, but probably won’t make another.
