Did I throw in any ZipLine kotn in that package I sent you? I know I meant to, but I can’t remember if I did.
If I did, put a tiny bit of chapstick (the more natural, the better) on the end of one of those and try that. Keep in mind, ZipLine kotn can take a little while longer to break in than bulk cotton but it will last a LOT longer.
Also, string length can really affect the way a fixed axle plays. I like to play my fixies relatively short (probably extremely short, in most people’s opinions). It makes stalls way easier because you’re not wasting all your wall space on just getting the string wound up. That being said, some people DO like long strings on their fixies. I do too, sometimes, depending what kind of tricks I’m working on.
I’m really surprised that the No-Jive isn’t jiving. I have two and they play beautifully in any setup. Of course, both of mine were used, so it’s possible I just got lucky and the previous owners tuned them up for me. I bet @edhaponik could give you some pointers on tuning that No-Jive to perfection.
I haven’t tried a BC, so I can’t speak to that, but people seem to love them, so I bet there’s something that can be done to save that one too.

I personally I haven’t re-glued. Many have though. Silicone gasket seal should work perfect. I will need to try gluing at some point. Sometimes the pads get loose and I replace them with new pads but, the loose pads still have a lot of life left in them. I have a loose pad in my main AL Confusion now, that’s creating problems.

I didn’t think to line up the grain!! That totally helped reduce the vibe. I converted to “flying camel” the other day and it just seemed so much more vibey, I went back. Today I lined up the grain and it plays much smoother.
Do you play mostly in the classic config? What was more popular back in the day?
“Herb” is treating me so well by the way!

I mainly play bfly but both are fun. 
Glad it’s working a little better. It can be a labor of love (or just a labor lol) to get the setup working just right.

i got rid of tik tok, insta, and fb a few months ago. i re-activated insta bc i’ve wanted to share this or that trick with friends who asked about fixed axle stuff and it’s literally 15 years of concepts (as well as fam photos and stuff). in any case having come through the other side of tik tok withdrawal the ban didn’t bother me at all, but it’ll def be an inconvenience to everyone who’d been using it.
i like imgur for yo-yo stuff. just feels like an informal little video sketchbook.

Edited the post with an instagram link. I forgot TikTok was going away. I finally had a way to post so people could just watch the video without having to go to an external link

Sadly it doesn’t post well to a lot of forums. But it beats the days when we’d have to post to GReg’s forum or upload to sector y and do all the html coding lol
