If you haven’t already done it, this is your sign to hit up @Ardeus and get you some really good fixies. Don’t let the shipping scare you. Trust me. You will get some very good yoyos for a very good price. It, honestly, kinda feels like I stole these.

Got my A size blanks from Amazon and now my Confusion is a Fixie. Woohoo! Trying to decide if I leave the thicker pads or change to thinner ones. My fear is if I change to thinner ones and don’t like it I can’t go back (don’t have anymore thicks). A bit harder to sleep than I hoped right now with the thick ones though. :man_shrugging:t2:

Great for practicing stalls though.

You could clean the thick pads and apply an adhesive to use them again.

Thanks dude!

I’m not sure how thin pads would respond with a blank but with a bearing the thin pads made my Confusion unresponsive… even with a 3mm narrow bearing installed. The thin pads are quite recessed back in their gap and I even tried flowing ultra grey flush in a confusion and couldn’t get it to respond. These were only my experiences and in no way are they meant to discourage you. It’s a real shame you can’t get those thick pads anywhere.

Super helpful info - thank you. I think I’ll stick to the thick then.

Interesting idea. Do you have an adhesive you recommend? I think I’ve decided to just stick with the thick but this is an interesting idea if I change my mind.

If your up for doing a tutorial for FAF25, I think something with your redirection would be awesome.

Yoyo coming back to the hand… Nope, fooled you, I am sending it this way. There was a awesome repeater in that video I would like to learn.

I’m up for it! Which one was it? If you’re talking about the trapeze stall-shoot the moon-back to trapeze stall, that one is deceptively difficult. I can definitely do a tutorial though.

I’ll try to shoot a few different tutorials of some repeaters I’ve discovered and you can take your pick.

Thanks, Ed! They really do regen epically.

I may have to pick up one of @Ardeus fixies–plastic fixies are my jam; I want to love wood so badly, but I just don’t jam with it.

Sounds like you just haven’t gotten a hold of a good wooden fixie. I love plastic, but nothing compares to wood imo. Ardeus replicate the play feel of wood very well, in my opinion. I think that’s why I love them so much. And, they do have wooden axles to be fair. Hickory, I believe.
