Favorite Titanium?

Ti-Vayder. It’s my only titanium, but it is one of my favourite yo-yos. It is so precise and balanced. A joy to throw.

Just thinking about the ti throws I’ve gotten in the last year and I still think the dazzler is the top. All of these have fantastic performance and quality so it’s just my personal preference.

  1. Dazzler
  2. ti sleipnir
  3. Anglam Apogee
    -TP Sancti Grail
  4. Doombot
  5. Non SE yweti
  6. Mechabape with se
  7. Old anglam zero
    -shaqshine fg ti
  8. ti og majiska
  9. berserker tiss & ILYY DR3I
    -Freehand ti
  10. Ti Triton
  11. 000
  12. Ti krown
  13. Gravity
  14. derti
  15. Cetus
  16. Ti dunk
    -tp absinthe
  17. Citizen
    -old shaqshine bros
  18. Shaqshine bros ti new
  19. New anglam zero
  20. Tundra
  21. Tishee
    -Frost
  22. Spaceship es
  23. TI wisteria
  24. Ti palp/hinemosu
    -fractiss
  25. Drunner
  26. Mustang es
  27. Majiska V2
  28. TI peak
  29. Oxy ti 9.06
    -fractiss
  30. Mechabape
    -Tiger
    -TP Naja
  31. Dualiti
  32. Albatross ti
  33. MK2 yweti
  34. Sovereign
  35. TI vayder
  36. Twin drive
  37. Rhino
  38. Ti sunbird
  39. TI hawk

Edit1: Derti now takes 4th and oxy ti9.06 takes 10th (if the oxy was 3 grams lighter it would have been top 2)
Edit2: berserker tiss ties for 3rd and tundra takes 5th
Edit3: ti sunbird takes 14th on the list. It could use some more rim weight .
Edit4: I get the hype about the majiska now
Edit5: doombot added at the top and the 000 came in surprisingly good. Also while the og majiska is fantastic it’s hard to justify keeping when it’s worth so much.
Edit6: moved the ti sunbird down and added the DR3I to the top
Edit7: added the ti triton proto v1 to the upper part of the list and the Dualiti closer to the bottom
Edit8: rhino placed near the bottom because I think the d bearing should be a c bearing. It’s seems like their is a lot of delay when directing it. Also moved the ti triton above the 000
Edit9: Majiska V2 added as a good titanium but not worth it personally.
Edit10: Anglam Apogee is a true gem. It plays very different from the og anglam so I don’t know what other people are thinking. It’s neck and neck with the number 1 spot on this. Is it worth it no, do I really enjoy it yes.
Edit11: Citizen was added and while I do think it’s a good yoyo. It’s fast and plays a lot lighter than it really is I just can’t see it being worth the money.
Edit12: I can’t believe how amazing the ti sleipnir (made by Danny you) I’ve been playing it a lot and it tues for first and might fully take the spot in the future. For the price this can’t be beat by anything else.
Edit13: the enso UI is smooth and has a lot of great characteristics but is lacking rim weight. If they had added like an extra gram to each rim I think this could have been a keeper.
Edit14: mechabape with ultralights is fantastic and it makes it just light enough to fix the heavy thud of the original. Anglam Zero is very similar to the anglam apogee but a little less stability but for the price I would easily pick this one. Gravity is fantastic and would be marked a little higher if this wasn’t a pain to tune and find the right side effects for (personal choice is Legos). Ti Palp and Mustang es are excellent competitive yoyos but they could have a little weight removed off the rims.
Edit15: Drunner is a surprising reinterpretation of the tiwalker. It feels a little denser than the tivayder even though it has an almost identical shape and weight. The gap is a little smaller which I also prefer.
Edit16: the ti freehand is fantastic and makes me think of a heavier ywet sort of thing. The old shaqshine bros is fantastic like a lighter anglam zero and very slight heavier feel between the new version. Tiger is fun but it’s a jack of all trades and a master of none. JT frost is like a mustang es with lightly less rim weight. It’s been growing on me a lot and makes me want to buy an ES again.
Edit 17: The shaqshine bros is the most aggressive and fastest of the JT Ti while the fgti is the most relaxed and easy to throw. The fractiss is in the middle of them having some characteristics of both but I just couldn’t click with it

I’ll spend the extra 500 if I love the yoyo. When I die… I won’t be taking any of my money to the grave haha

I have 6 TiVayders, 2 TiWalkers and 2 D-Runners.

TiVayders the best in my personal opinion.

Common logic would dictate that Ti Walkers aren’t expensive because they’re better. They’re more expensive because they’re harder to get.

TiVayders are less expensive, easier to get and play better.

I guess it’s all just where your heads at.

When I was a kid if you had holes in the knees of your Levi’s people would hand you money and ask you if you were hungry?

Now if you go out walking around with the holes in the knees of your Levi’s people ask you for money and tell you they’re hungry.

PS… when I wrote the post Cotton responded to, I did not yet have a Ti Vayder.

I have owned a ti vayder and a 3yo3 Ti5

And honestly?

The Ti5 takes the cake for me, I LOVE the way it moves, it feels so encouraging and fast without feeling out of control at all, can hit any trick on it 100% of the time, and have a blast doing it!

While your opinion is much respected due to the sheer size of your collection; I find the Ti-Walker better throw than the Ti-Vayder. To me, the Vayder has too much heft and does not have the sweet float that the Ti-Walker has. in my limited experience, the only other throw that possesses the same ‘perfect’ ratio of performance and float is the Draupnir.

No disrespect to the Vayder. I am only comparing it to the original. On its own; the Vayder is beast.

All my ti throws are special in there own way.
I will grade my ti throws since they are the ones I know here they are.
1st - Oxygene ti early 2009 release
2nd - Luftverk Ultima
3rd - RSO OG MechaBapezilla
4th - RSO Gravity
5th - Ti Silver Bullet
6th - YYF ti 888
The one I am missing that I would like to add to my collection is YoYoRecreation Fireworks

I have alway been hunting for one but no luck.

My understanding is that the TiVayder is essentially as near a carbon-copy of the TiWalker as it can get (with only some very minor changes, maybe at the bearing seat or gap, I don’t remember exactly).

The perception of how a yoyo plays is very subjective, and I’m not sure that I would be able to tell the difference between the two in a blinded test. I feel like some other variable would have more of an effect (i.e. string, string length, bearing) than the actual shape of the yoyos.

That’s not to say that you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I just find it impressive that you can. I have not played a TiWalker, so I can’t weigh in unfortunately.

My two cents on this might be worth a penny and a half…. But, I think this is worth considering.

When Jeff decided to design and produce a ‘more affordable’ Ti yo-yo, he recruited Heath to help make it happen.

One of the primary aspects of the yo-yo besides a ‘lower price’ was that the yo-yo play ‘even better’ than the Original Ti-Walker.

Who, better to potentially distinguish what proto would establish at least a slightly higher performance benchmark than the OG Heath…?

Once the yo-yo CAD went to the Machine shop for production of a pretty large order(by ti yo standards), it must have been the general consensus that they achieved an even better playing yo-yo.

I am not saying that my opinion is correct. And I am not suggesting Yoyogeezers’ opinion is incorrect.

What I am suggesting is that(hypothetically) if every single person that owns a Ti Walker and a Vayder, jumped in to this thread and stated they feel the Walker is a better playing yo-yo than the Vayder>>>

Then that would mean Heath can’t even tell the performance differences of his own designs…. And Jeff made 500 yo-yos that don’t play as well as the yo-yo they were designed to top.

Most interesting indeed🤔
