Nail polish - 7/10 - It’s usually not opaque, so it doesn’t show up well on darker colors like black, but looks pretty good on raw/Ti/SS and is fairly easily removed even after years of curing (not sure if that’s an accurate term?).
Enamel model paint (Testor’s) - 7/10 - Opaque, readily available in matte and gloss, stays on forever, but also stays on forever (enamel thinner got most of it off of a G2 Hawk I sold, but did nothing for any enamel left in the tiny groove inside the cup, had to discount the throw ;_; but whatever).
Acrylic paint (cheap Artist’s Loft) - 7/10 - Opaque, but does not apply well unless you’re already skilled in painting with it (I clearly am NOT, lol), chips easily, but is also easily removed if necessary.
Overall I will likely stick with acrylic or nail polish simply because it’s cheap, removable, and cleanup is simple.
The Sistine from @TSAF
They designed it specifically for it to be like a blank canvas for people to paint, but I’m not a painter so I doodled all over it like the doodles I used to do all over notebooks in high school. The punk/emo doodles and safety pins was my whole vibe back then lol
Thanks bro, absolutely love the way it looks when spinning. I was going to assume a light purple since you left a good amount of the silver exposed. Great look.
I don’t think I posted this in this particular thread. If I did, I apologize. I know it’s been posted a few times over the years.
FH2 I painted like, 22 years ago LOL! (holy crap I can’t believe it’s been that long) - It’s a flipflop automotive paint. It’s actually THE yoyo that inspired Takeshi to do the colorshift FH Zero mods and then later Duncan did a small production run of the color shift FHZ. I had done another one with a black base, I think I gave it to Takeshi, which is the color he ultimately went with for the FHZ run. I much preferred the clear look more.
Pink Night Moves 2 inside an Enyo (glow) body. I frickin miss this one! They released a pink one but this particular one I painted myself. I had 3 clear enyo NightMoves 2 and sacrificed one to paint. The NM2 used to be one of my absolute favorite yoyos. Really regret getting rid of them.
Took awhile. It’s entirely splatter. I mixed the colors individually to a shade I wanted. Splattering a layer. Drying it with a hairdryer.
Mixed another color and added the next color layer. Etc. Until the whole thing was covered.
