Boingy Boing (Need help)

Too late. I already see threads coming off… but its ok because this yoyo is all scratched now.

This yoyo… is a lesson on what not to do, and what to do.

I decided to start all over again from scratch and re-learn this trick again. This time i have the setup on top of my chest. I noticed the yoyo stays in the middle now and it goes alot slower when i do it. Not a bad thing for me since now i can see whats going on with the yoyo.

I can’t do it down there anymore near the ground and go fast again. But maybe its better up there instead of down there.

Back to the BASICS… i really like this trick!

Lol

I looked at some others but nothing compared to boingy boing. Kiyabu… THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS TRICK TO THE YO-YO WORLD!

Maybe im just too amazed at boingy boing… once i get bored of it (how??) ill try something else.

But right now… all i see is boingy boing on the yoyo. Plus my other super easy basic tricks.

I seen those boingy boing variation where it goes under, or it goes vertical but the regular one… there is just something sooooo cool about it.

What about seasick? it’s like an inverse Boingy-Boing.

protrusions ! are even cooler version of boingy boing

i dont know. Right now its regular boingy-boing.

Here is another thing i found out about this trick, you have to be fresh. Muscles not over-worked. I was doing alot today to where my chest is nice and slow, going straight and in the middle. No more doing it close to the floor… and im glad.

All of a sudden… tonight i just couldn’t do it. I was doing good tonight though by the way then muscles stopped working and then the anoying part happend.

I started to go faster! and the yoyo would turn and go up past the middle strings! :frowning:

Best thing to do… since i got the trick down, is just do it for only a hour a day.

It’s not one of those tricks where you can keep doing it near perfect all the time, you have to be fresh. Or maybe it’s just me.

I think im just about done here, i already got my trick. Cheers and thanks for keeping the yoyos alive around the world.

have you tried taking time away from the yoyo? like 5-7 days no yoyo then coming back and trying again. you will be amazed at how the brain works even when not physically doing it.

Nope. I just learned it so right now im afraid of losing it. Still have a blister on my finger but now it got smaller because i dont practice all day anymore.

do you forget how to ride a bike? or jump rope or throw a ball?? skills are rarely forgotten. maybe after a very long period of time it can be rusty for more difficult skills. but it comes back quickly. and when learning new skills taking time away from that skill can actually increase the results. even just thinking about each part of the process during a break has been shown to improve skills. over doing or overthinking is what usually slows people down or messes them up.

Absolutely, I second this. There was a study that found that mental practice had the same effect as actually physically practising.

I already got it back. I changed the bottom using the thumb during the mount instead of using the index finger. This really REALLY made the yoyo stay in the middle, even close to the bottom.

Also keeping the middle and index on the top hand close together helped keep the strings centered too.

Right now its I can do them straight or somtimes they start turning/twisting even if i see it bouncing forward straight and back. But the speed is good, you can see whats going on with the yoyo. I’m glad i dont go fast like my other one weeks ago, it looks like there is two yoyos.

Great job!

Boingy boing is the only trick worth learning, it still twists sometimes so i dont think i fully learned it yet. I heard its on the advanced level, its not expert or master. So I feel better now since it isnt suppose to be that hard, just some adjustments and you’re good.

Here is a secret that helped me, when you do the up&down motion, you are suppose to use ur ARM only, not the hand. If I use the hand… the yoyo just goes up and jumps out all the time.

For my fellow yoyo’ers. Share!

or maybe it just works for me idk.

Say what?!?!?

It still twists and turns sometimes. How about a super wide yoyo?? the strings won’t touch the sides as much??

I’m keeping the strings as dead center as i can, hands on top of eachother…

Your main problem is that you are not learning other tricks! If you would learn a variety of tricks this would train you to keep the string centered and the yoyo on plane. Then after a while your boings would be straight and true without even practicing boingy-boing.
