Back to school!

Who’s excited for school to start? I love my kids but these last two weeks my toddlers have been absolutely terrible and I think school is the structure we need to get back on track. Next week it begins here. Who else is excited for school to start either for your kids or your self?

I’m very excited for my kids to not be home while I’m working from home again for a while.

I absolutely adore my kids…but there’s 5 of them and I sometimes have to literally lock myself in to my office to get some peace and quiet.

surely this is like a catalogue of courses if you are taking 6 college philsophy classes you’re in my thoughts and prayers

Calculus and chemistry… I did this exact combo in college. I regretted it… good luck

Only difference was object oriented programming wasn’t a class back then

Day camp ends this week but we’ve got two more weeks to go. Next week is family vacay and the following week is “stitch together a bunch of activities because there’s no camp :sob:.”

So day camp has always felt like the easier of the two for me as a parent. That first summer after COVID when camps reopened, we got childcare from 8:30AM-5:00PM and it was such a weight off our shoulders. It was the most childcare we had had ever. Now my kids are at an age where they did 2 weeks of sleep away camp, and I’m hopeful that next year they’ll do 4.

So I guess you would say I’m excited for the school year to start but also sad for the end of summer specifically with respect to childcare.

As a teacher I am super bummed that I don’t get to spend time with my wife and our girls (3 and 1). On the other hand I love working at my school and have a principal that is giving me an actual budget to fund a kendama/yoyo club I’ll run over our lunch and after school one day a week so I’m mad hyped. Also, I finally finished my master’s so it’s nice to go into a new school year without a crazy night school schedule haha.

Good luck to all the parents, teachers a,d students in the thread! You all got this!

My oldest son is turning 13 in few weeks and is getting ready to start 7th grade and I’m scared to death. I still remember that time in my life and how miserable it was, so I’m just hoping and praying he has a better time than I did…

Not my first year though, I’ve been basically dancing around taking calc and I might pivot to elec eng because so far… programming hasn’t really been for me lol
