Here are a few I’ve owned over the years from left to right. Apologies, it’s probably going to be a long post.
Fender Telecaster - Heavily modded burgundy / Midnight-Wine MiM Telecaster it was my absolute favorite guitar. I had a ton of time and money into it and I hate myself for selling it but at the time (around 2012 I think) I got scammed trying to buy an iPhone 2nd hand. The person sent me an iPhone box with cornstarch in it and then they immediately reported it / me and the transaction when I received it, so when I tried to open the case with paypal, they made it look like I tried to scam them which made zero sense because I hadn’t even had a chance to contact them before they tried to report me. It was messed up! Somehow PayPal / eBay sided with them and I ended up losing a bunch of money and I still needed a phone and rent was due a week later so I had to pawn my guitar. Classic story. I was absolutely gutted because it was my favorite to play and I didn’t want to sell it but I didn’t have a choice.
I had it set up with a push pull coil tap knob and an extra switch that would split between the two pickups and coils depending on what pickup was selected. The pickups were also upgraded from stock. Upgraded saddle and bridge, completely insulated on the inside it was a shredder. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get another tele. Like, SOON!
Dean ML - It’s Dimebags iconic geet. If you don’t know who that is.. well.. uh.. What are you doing with your life MAN!?
It shredded and I loved it, I mean.. It was a freaking ML! But at the time it was too big for the apartment life because I had my guitars in my living room and it was getting cramped. I also sold it to help fund the telecaster above.
Dean 350F I had enough left over from selling the ML I bought the 350F for dirt cheap at the local guitar store. They were marking a bunch of stuff down and somehow I managed to get it for like, $125 and they had just come out recently so I had to snap it up. It was pretty cool and played well but I just didn’t form a bond with it. I kept it for a few months and then sold it for $300 on eBay
ESP Eclipse EC-1000 See-Through black cherry - This was one of my first “big boy” guitar purchases. I bought it in 2002 or 2003, maybe 04, I can’t remember haha! A few of my friends and I were in a couple of bands at the time and I remember wanting something better than the 90s strat that I had (sadly I can’t find pictures of it, but it was red and it had a big Marlboro sticker under the bridge saddle lol) so I saved up a bunch of lunch money, birthday money, etc. etc. Finally managed to get it. I felt like a king it was so nice looking at the time with all of the abalone binding and inlays. I babied that thing, so much so I was afraid to take it out of the house. So I didn’t do many shows with it. Also, it was freaking heavy as hell. I kept it for a few years but ultimately sold it for something else later on because I found I didn’t really like the shape that much and the weight of it was just too much to practice with sitting down.
ESP Horizon This one was super cool I got it in 2015, I really liked the blue because it was different than anything else I had previously. For some reason I always seemed to end up with a red or red-adjacent guitar. Red isn’t even a favorite color of mine, it just so happened that way
Anyway. I really liked this one and would have liked to have kept it, it played amazing and was super comfortable. My youngest sister was really really really into it and she was wanting to get more serious about playing, she had some el-cheap-o guitar so I gave it to her. I “think” she still has it but I don’t knwo
Ibanez RG Got this one in 2015 a couple of months after giving the ESP Horizon to my sister. It’s currently the only electric that I have at the moment. I’ve upgraded the pickup guards and nobs to glowy ones that I made. It plays well, the EMGs that are in it are super hot though. I like it but don’t love it. The neck radius isn’t my favorite. It’s still a cool guitar though.
Palmer Acoustic - This is the guitar that I have had the longest and will never part with it. It has too much sentimental value. My grandpa got it for me when I was young and just starting to show a lot of interest in learning guitar. I had a cheap plastic guitar with plastic strings and it was hot garbage. So, knowing I wanted a real guitar and also having seen what my bio-father did to me* at the time he tried to make it right and get me something good.
“*” (bio-father built me a strat out of parts (this was in the 90s so it was legit good parts) and gave it to me on Christmas. A few weeks later he says he still needed to fix a few things on it so I gave it back to him. Well, he never gave it back to me, he sold it for gas an cig money.)
It was for my birthday that year after I had unwrapped everything, grandpa said, oh there’s one more thing! He went downstairs for a minute, when he came up the stairs he held it up and was like, “what do you think of that”!?! I was so excited and I’ve had it ever since. (now I’m crying haha) I’ve had this one ever since and while I’ve outgrown it I can’t ever let go of it. It needs a little tlc but I still get it out and pluck around on it every once in a while. It’s crazy it stays in tune better than some of the most tech’d out tuners and stuff. I can leave it for months and it’ll still be in tune. It’s been with me for like 5 moves and growing up from a kid to an adult. There’s no way I would sell it. I almost did once in 2007 but thought about it and didn’t do the deal. Today, I am glad that I didn’t. I miss my grandpa so much (he passed in 2021) and only as an adult I’ve seen how much he really cared and tried to give me a good life and upbringing. (I was raised by my grandparents).
