I hear Ann Connolly will be at Mass States this weekend, perhaps I should ask her thoughts on women in yo-yoing. If she is receptive to questions, I will post further.
Wow you guys are lucky going to mass states I’ve never bin to one Yoyo competition but I’m sure you wil rock the competition it and please talk to her oh an hope you have good sales on your total artist holders because your probably gonna sell them there right?
I’m not competing, but maybe next year I’ll go for it. YYE will be selling the holders, and I’ll have a few on me if anyone wants to check them out. I will try to talk to Ms. Connolly and get something to post in the thread here for you guys.
I got to speak to Ms. Connolly. She was kind enough to sign a YYE Trading Card for me when I asked. I told her about the thread that was on the forum, and asked her how she got started in yo-yoing. She stated that she has no brothers, she is an only child. She stated that she started yo-yoing at age 5, and her father yo-yoed, so he is the one who showed her some of her first tricks. She stated that it helped that it was during the time of the yo-yo boom, and it was popular at the time. It was nice to meet her, she was very down to earth and very receptive. She also had a great performance as well. Very nice person, and a good example for other women and girls. I’m glad she was at Mass States!
lucky you got to meet her and she sounds a lot like me except I did not start yo-yoing when I was 5 that and I have siblings but I got into yo-yoing the same way by interest of it that and I have the same kind of traits as her
I am a girl yo-yoer. I only started about 3 months ago,and I go to the Chicago Yo-Yo club, but I live an hour away. My dad is a fellow yo-yoer, but he rarely teaches me. I just got an account today so yeah…
Yes practice what trick are you working on anyway? I will be happy to help with which ever As well as that yo-yoing is fun and now the head count now of all girl yoyoers this forum has emerged found is 9 I think let’s get 10!!!
