They were not the first to use stainless rims on aluminum body. The oldest I can remember is the werrd beef. They do, however, seem to have popularized it for sure.

With $20 you can get all you need for sure, and sometimes less $.

As is often said, need vs “want.”

Then add for string and supplies. Cheaper yo-yos have unpredictable bearings…

Agree, nothing worse than spending your whole budget only to find out that strings wear out. I’m glad you described bearings in cheaper yoyos as unpredictable, that has been my experience. One of the best bearings I have came in a Replay Pro, one of the worst in a similarly priced yoyo from a reputable company.
