The Ren Japan set up is rather tight. My Raiders with the Sunshine kit though play pretty buttery, those are hidden in a travel bag ATM.
Never mind.
Super helpful - thank you!
The blitzball spacers are .2mm difference so swapping to the thinner spacer should improve response. It did for me.
Soā¦ a few days ago I felt like my non dominant hand progress was going backward. I gave myself three days off with no 2A. I just picked up two 720s and almost immediately I got 2 loops each. That feels good. I canāt wait till itās 5 or so. That has to feel nice.
I didnāt notice any spacers in use when I opened them up, just the bearing seat inserts. Or are those the spacers? There was a little baggie of really thin washers and I assumed those are the spacers.
There are spacers as well as the washers which I guess are spacers too. Maybe someone smarter will answer.
I have had that same experience. Like I was thinking about the motion too much instead of feeling it, if that makes sense
This is an actual license plate I had on my Jeep before I sold it, originally referred to a different 2A but still appropriate here as well.
I have a green 720 that has a see through black cap. Is yours like that and is the red the same?
Happy Tuesday! I know itās 5A May, but Iāve been working 2A too much to drop it entirely for the month. Iām playing the Hornets today. The response on the yellow one is a bit off; Iāll replace it eventually. I kind of want a pair of Raiders first. For the time being Iāve moved it to my dominant hand which can more easily handle small variations in response.
Hop the Fence has been getting more consistent with my recent form adjustments to turn over my whole wrist instead of just my fingers. I might have an updated progress video soon of two handing it.
Iāve hesitated to post this as Iām at the tail end of the group but on 2a Tuesday Iāll throw this out. Before you change out the string tie another small finger loop in it as close as you can to the old finger loop. Give it a throw and see which you like better.
The difference is the ring that touches the bearing inside the spacer, otherwise known as the bearing post. The outside of the spacer will always be the same size because they all sit in the same part of the yoyo half, if it was shorter or taller it would be recessed or proud of the starburst, both would negatively affect response.
The Loop 2020 comes with different starbursts that give the same recessed/proud effect to change the response. We have established that on the 720, the 2020 is different, the difference is inside the cup. The difference in spacers is .04-.05mm. My question is can we tell a difference in .05mm of gap.
I can
According to the table that Exmime provided by measuring the spacer set ups, the difference in gap width are about 0.1-0.13mm between the various sizes and when weāre talking about gap widths sub 1.2mm, thats an 8% (1.05 to 1.15) to 14% (.81 to .92) change in gap width.
Yo I gotta do half 2a half 5a today because itās been rainy and Iāll be bummed if I donāt get taw by Friday but Iām still loop committed! Good luck everyone!
In play, absolutely. Again, if you have loop ups, itās very easy to test this - just make a tiny turn, and the height of your loops wlll change quite a bit in response if you keep the pacing of the loops the same.
There is this video about 2020 set ups if you havenāt seen it already. They also get intro string length and general set up that I found helpful.
I was under the impression that blues are thinnest and green thickest but using these numbers that is not true. Using my numbers that is correct but letās stick with Exmimeās. My initial post was incorrect as I was not measuring correctly and to be fair asked to be corrected. People wanting to be like Shu (me) and run one blue and one red changed their gap by .075. With a 1.95mm gap according to YYF thats less than a 4 percent change assuming perfect accuracy in producing the plastic yoyo and bulk string.
