i can’t place my thumb in the right place any ideas?

Erm… What Nova said, but I think you’re talking about when you pop off of the under mount, and swing up into a trapeze using your left thumb. (Assuming you’re right handed/ and not weird.) What I do is as I pop the yoyo off, I wait until the string is straight again, instead of being bent into the under mount, or when it is at around half way through the swing, I just stick my thumb on top of the string, kind of like I’m pinching it, and then it lands in the trapeze through the sheer force of awesomeness/ momentum.
