Just got my grind machine and was wondering if I need a tool to get to the bearing?

Use some needle nose pliers to get the bearing removed.
Hmm, I need to rephrase. How do I get the yoyo in half? It will not unscrew
It will definitely unscrew. Try using a bit more force; maybe even a rubber grip-mat.
Also make sure you’re twisting the halves in the correct direction
