So the “Suggested Topics” at the bottom of each post has been finding some amazing threads from before my time here. What old threads do y’all have bookmarked or what are some of your favorite old threads? Some of the good things I’ve found so far have been—
I’m curious how many tricks can be tied to a specific individual, as the person who introduced the trick to the masses, named it, and gets credit for coming up with it. If you know any tricks and the person who came up with them, or you think you do…post here. I’m interested in tricks tied to an individual that are fact, and not disputed. Thanks.

Something just crossed my mind and I’m really curious… Why do the photos of yoyos posted in the what did you get in the mail thread get more love and attention than the videos of people posting yoyo tricks in the lets start posting tricks thread? Do people on the forum like looking at yoyos more than they like seeing actual yoyo tricks? I don’t get it. We need more love being shown on peoples tricks and more people posting tricks…
Along with my other new clip vid, I put together a video explaining where the tech style of yo-yoing started. I don’t see much publicly available info on the topic. A History of Tech Yo-Yoing - YouTube

Here’s a thread I like:
Does anyone have a year-by-year timeline of modern yo-yos that are standouts? By standouts I mean, as recognized by the yo-yoing community, yo-yos that are unique, innovative, popular, horrible, etc. I’m thinking of mainly just one or two a year (or 3, or 4 :)). Beginning arbitrarily at 1976 when the Duracraft ProYo was introduced by Donald Duncan Jr., here is a start from my collection database (laughably incomplete, please fill in/correct as appropriate; also dates tend to be introduction …
