A titanium rimmed Draupnir would be less dense, given the same volume used, so that idea is not really feasible for those who love the powerful spin coming from a Draupnir.
If price is not of concern, a titanium bodied Draupnir with Tungsten weight rims is ideal. Now that will give me sleepless nights.
I was dabbling around looking at some other yyr throws after purchasing the Draupnir and noticed that they have quite a few large diameter throws.
How are you all liking these large throws in general? My largest throw is the Chief and its size only bothered me for a few good throwing sessions at most. And that was because I jumped straight in from the DM2 and Ricochet to the Chief. After a few tricks the Chief felt as normal as could be considering I was aware that it was larger than my other throws.
Any and all opinions on these larger yyr throws would be greatly appreciated!
I own an Overdrive and a Dreadnought.
These are both massive, and massively stable. And a powerful spin at that (especially the Overdrive).
I like the fact that i could whip one of these out and just go crazy with them.
Iāve found that these guys go well with heavy strings. You could do just about anything with them (tech, horizontal, whips).
I personally like larger diameter throws, Iāve never been a fan of undersized ones. Granted, I can understand how the Dreadnaught or Overdrive might be too big for some, but Im all about larger throws.
I at first did not like larger diameter throws. When I started getting back into throwing 50mm yoyoās were all the rage and they were great for me. Then I got the One Drop 54 and that to me was huge!!! heheā¦ Over time I jumped to 55mm (Avalanche) then 56mm (Chief) and 57mm (Sleipnir) and such.
I would say that 55mm is my sweet spot as of now!! Did anyone see the new YoYo Monster AGONIST with a either SS or Brass inserted rim?
Yeah, I would agree with this. If it is just a Ti rim, and it truly played better than a Draupnir, I would be 95%+ likely to get it (Letās see how much I like the draupnir when it comes in). If it were a full Ti, and it played better than a Draupnir, I would 99%+ buy it.
If it were an actual YYR release, I would be compelled either way, as I am working towards a complete YYR collection.
As for big throws, I have a DreadnoughtG, and a regular Dreadnought on the way. I like the one I have. It plays very different from the smaller ones. I like the slowed down pace and deliberateness that it inspires. I like it much more than I liked the Quantum, a fine throw in its own right. YYR seems to have my number as far as preferences are concerned.

That was sent to the middleman that relays my messages to the yyr machinest/designer (Iām not sure which) just responded to me with the āLOLā comment from them self, not the yyr designer. I havenāt heard what the designer had to say yet. The time difference is kind of bothersome and I have to talk really late at night if want to have any lengthy conversation enstead of just receiving a message that is a response from the previous day.
