Well, I got my red one on the way. I would have prefered any other color, and tempered rims, but I have wated long enough. I got the red ano!
I didnāt PM, but I think you know Iām interested.
Just got stung for $65.00 customs charge on my Draupinr. Bah humbug.
lol Britain, geez that sucks, sorry bud.
Hahaha, I know, itās ridiculous. But I want my Draupnir, so Iāve just paid begrudgingly.
A Ti Draupnir while awesome would cost WAYYY more than a Dazzler. Most Ti yoyoās are made in a smaller diameter on purpose because a bar of Ti cost a ton. If you make a 57 mm yoyo out of Ti it will cost well over a grand. Maybe even more⦠But what the heck go for it!!! I would not mind seeing that yoyo made!!
I donāt think so. If (and if) the titanium only replaces the 7075, not the weight rims, then it might be possible to use lesser titanium than the Dazzler.
The shavings are pretty much scrap, so the smaller the diameter, the less shavings/scraps. All yoyos weight about the same, so by using a smaller diameter, youāre saving yourself a lot of money.
Iām buying a Ti Draupnir soon ^.^ I got a really good deal.
Huh? Itās not even being made until there are enough people interested in it.
Are you talking about the custom being made that is based off the draupnir and dazzler with SS rims? I too am getting that but its not a YYR.
^^^
What are you guys talking about? Stealth versions? Knock-offs?
A Titanium model that only gets made if enough people want it? What is going on here? Who is speaking for what manufacturer? ā¦
This is all getting confusing. I can only get a Dazzler if I call some dude in Malaysia⦠but Andre might get some at YYE; I can get a Ti Draupnir - if I express interest and pony up $$ beforehand; there is a knock-off version of the Draupnir; made of Ti, with Stainless Steel rimsā¦
This is just too weird and impossible to make sense of. Please, what is going on with YYR! ???
lol afaik this has nothing to do with YYR and iām sure will never actually be made. The engineering on the Draupnirās rims isnāt just something someone decides to make on a whim, not to mention i hardly see why iād want to spend hundreds if not $1k+ on a knock-off YYR? No thanks. Then again i havenāt contacted anyone, just what i assume from this thread. I mean if someone wants to start their own yoyo company and make a big olā Ti yoyo then go for it, but i think theyāll be surprised at the effort and money required. Thereās also the fact that the Draupnir is so great because of its light weight, a Ti Draupnir would be quite heavy.
MLYYM is in discussions with the original designer of the draupnir who is considering working up a Ti model as a small batch project. It is posted about in the Ti thread, as well as in this thread.
THis is not some random guy off the street with a bootleg copy of auto cad.
Correct. A page back in this thread I mentioned it.
BUT, I have a feeling the guy who posted above that said is getting a Ti Draupnir IS actually talking about a āone-offā yoyo that is being made by a forum member. Not a Ti Draupnir but from the forum members words, āa design based off the draupnir and dazzler with SS rims.ā I do not know how long its been in the design phase or how experienced the person is at making yoyos. I just know he says he is making one.
Turns out my friend is making a design based off the Draupnir, I have no idea why he called it a Ti Draupnir.
Just spoke to a guy whoās making an Mg Draupnir. Canāt say any more as itās a super secret.
Lmao.
Iām making a fixed axel draupnir with a light weight swamp ash body and lignum vitae rims. Stay tuned.
I totally made a draupnir fart out gold flakes when it smashed into the floor and I hear mine was the tester for the upcoming Ti draupnir guaranteed to make you blow you wad and cry for joy and you figure out you have a pot of gold on a string!
You forgot to use the unicorn hair based string didnāt you? That would have protected it.
