Interesting. Pics plz. I wouldn’t think titanium on a yoyo would ever wear away unless you were doing a large mount of sparking or other destructive activity, certainly normal play won’t wear away anything.
I seriously doubt I can get a pic of the tiny spot I mentioned as it is less than a mm in diameter. That’s why I say it could wear since its so very tiny. I would think that it was left by whatever method was used to attach the titanium in a fixed position while was spinning on the machine but instead of a tiny indentation its raised.
Ill post some pics if can figure out how to but don’t have a macro lens for my camera so will just use iphone camera.

Look at the very center and you can see the tiny raised spot.
Interesting how they didn’t machine the cups a little more so as to get rid of that little nub. That would annoy me. And frankly, for $700 I would expect close to perfection.
Got my Butcher yesterday! Woah baby this thing is sweet. I was expecting regens to be a little better though.
Yea that’s why I mentioned it right off the bat. Wouldn’t think something like that would be left even though it was only a run of 10. I guess there are quirks with limited items some times though. If I did thumb grinds or other similar tricks then maybe it would bother me but who knows as it might not even be noticeable.
I got mine today too.
Mine has the same machining flaws in the form of the nipples in the cups. I’ll tell you what, even at $700 I don’t care. This yoyo is a game changer for me. I have only thrown it for 15 minutes so far, but this is the yoyo that really speaks to me louder than any other. I am blown away. Not since the Anglam CC have I felt such awesomeness from the first throw. This thing really fits what I like in a yoyo (stability, fell on the string, spin time). I have been debating how to pare down and focus my collection, and this yoyo will cement my quest to get all the YYRs as long as the Draupnir lives up to the hype. Wow, it really is amazing. More so than any other yoyo I have, and for those who have followed my binge spending, I am hording up a storm of high end throws.
Rob
I just threw mine for the first time a little bit ago and was coming to this thread to say pretty much exactly what you did.
What I think I’m liking the most is how it does NOT play anything at all like its weight would suggest. This is my first yyr and I too can tell already that its my favorite by leaps and bounds. I mean I just am still in shock I guess because it plays so well. I would buy another if it came in different colors for sure. The Hyperion doesn’t come close to this throw and I thought the Hyperion was right there with the chief and maybe a tad better at some things but lacked just a little in stability. The dazzler is super stable.
Will have to play it some more before can really put my thoughts into words.
If you’re looking for something to broaden your collection, Try the Anglam CC. Similarly great.
My first throw was the MaxBet, and I was immediately a TP fanboi. Their other yoyos are indeed top rate, and I like them a lot, but YYR has really knocked it out of the park with this one. Similarly, the Sturm Panzer and Anglams are amazing. YYR is outshining them. The Oxys are great. I am glad to have my hyperion, and Megatron (and others), but again, YYR nailed this one. I really can’t wait for the anodized draupnir.
I am appreciating the YYR in the appropriate thread I guess. THis thing is great, and you guys whould really see if you can get Andre to get one for you if he is indeed able to get another run out of them.
One thing that has not been mentioned yet. The shape is super comfortable in my hand. To look at it. It is nothing spectacular from an aesthetic design. Looks like a yoyo. It may be the closest thing we have to a platonic ideal yoyo made into an actual object. Amazing.
I just got a huge repain bill for some groundhog damage on my property, and was having some thoughts that I might be being financially irresponsible ordering this. I was not. I am really glad I got this.
Did I mention I liked it?
I am waiting for the anodized Draupnir, but I am loving this Dazzler so much that I am thinking about buying a Draupnir tonight anyway. This is despite being on a self imposed buying freeze for a little while. Wow, this thing keeps impressing. I am not a great yoist, but I can Matrix for what seems like 10 minutes (probably less than half that). It is so stable, and just keeps spinning. Effortless and smooth.
I almost got spirit bomb for first time tonight. Have been trying it here and there with no luck but almost got it a few times with the dazzler. I still need more practice with hop tricks that switch sides/cross/uncross hands.
I’m intrigued. While i’m sure it’s amazing i still can’t get over the price. $300 definite buy, $400 probably buy, $500 maybe buy, $600+ don’t know. For that same $600+ i probably bought a lot of my YYR collection. I think at the end of the day i prefer variety to outright performance, but then again if it has that feel to it that some yoyos have, maybe it is worth as much as a stack of other throws. Just can’t help but wonder what the heck YYR are up to these days. So glad i have a bunch of my YYR grail yoyos, but still want so many more.
Your Attune, Uragment, and overdrive are simply too beautiful.
It makes me so sad…
Honestly i would have bought more if i knew they were going to suddenly dry up, even if just so i could hook people up here on the forums who missed out. I’m going around trying to snap up dupes of some of my favorite YYRs now. The splashed Stargeyser and Sleipnir are major regrets.
Why Kengo, whyyyyyyy…?!
That Sleipnir. Dear god.
I hate Warm colors. but that thing is FANTASTIC.
He better keep making that Uragment style color tho.
I dig the bleeding look…
Yeah; so welcome to the YYR fan club.
It is amazing how many people react this way when throwing their first YYR- whatever the model. I remember the first time I threw a Sleipnir two years ago. It changed how I viewed every other throw. There is just something about each and every YYR. Just perfect.
I would very much like to hear a Dazzler comparison from someone who also owns a Ti Walker. … Anyone?
Thing is, this is my 12th YYR, not my first. My attune is a top 5 in my collection for sure. My favorite of my YYR’s prior to the Dazzler. I love all 12 though to be honest, but the Dazzler is really something special. I can only imagine it is the closest thing out there to a Ti Draupnir based on the Draupnir descriptions. Can’t wait to get my draupnir to compare.
MLYYM has both a Dazzler and TiWalker, I’ll await his comparison eagerly.
Love my YYR as well. Definitely a “fan boy.” Still eagerly awaiting the ano Draupnir release!
I have a couple of the Draupnirs, and a quite a few Titaniums YoYo’s, I was also fortunate enough to throw the Dazzler while I was in Japan last month.
I have to tell you that I have yet to find a YoYo that I would compare to the Draupnir at this point. I’m still very in love with my Ti-Walkers and my Anglams, but for me personally, the Draupnir just brings something to the party I have not experienced until I picked one up. I agree with you YoYoGeezer in that the Ti-Walker is a pretty close second, but everything else is way back in the pack. The Dazzler I threw was a fine throw, but I believe I would still prefer my Ti-Walker if I had to pick a Titanium throw.
YoYoRecreation really found that missing formula with the Draupnir in my opinion. Of the dozen or so YoYoRecreations I own, I have a good notion to just sell them all except the Draupnir. I’m really glad I completed my collection of YoYorecreations though just in case they stop making YoYo’s.
I will be really curious to hear what others have to say when they compare the Dazzler and the Draupnir. Is it worth three times the price? For me, I would buy it as a collection piece, without the expectation of it outperforming the Draupnir.
I fully intend to grab a Dazzler if Andre is successful in grabbing a few of them. It’s the only Titanium YoYo I don’t currently own that I still would like to have…And you have all made me really curious, that’s for sure.
For $600.00ish dollars though, I certainly hope it can live up to it’s price.
I’m really happy that at least a few members of the community managed to grab one though. I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts as you have more of an opportunity to throw it a while longer.
Dazzler is based on the Stargazer design, not the Draupnir. If you own a Stargazer, try to do a comparison if possible.
As much as I love highend yoyos, I cannot justify their prices, I believe that a Rally, a Protostar, a Yeti, and a Speedaholic give a much higher bang to my buck than a highend yoyo does. Seeing as they’re all cheap and I have all of them, I still buy the highend yoyos, but I myself would never pay more than $300 for a yoyo.
It gives me great satisfaction, however, that these yoyos at extraordinary prices still have a place in the market and that people love them and are extremely happy to buy them.
For that kind of cash I’d be slightly angry if there were flaws sorry I’m not trying to be a downer I just think I’d expect near (very very near) perfection. That sort of cash is a small fortune to me.
