A bar of titanium, titanium good, certainly costs more than one of aluminum, but not ten times more.
Work as titanium consumes much faster tools of the CNC, but it is same it consumes steel.
If western manufacturers (not Chinese), with relative costs of bureaucracy and taxation, as onedrop, vsnyyc, Norten spinn etc… have managed to produce excellent yoyo with titanium good quality, selling to $ 200 … understand that $ 500 is a value without any justification.
Magnesium is a material which by many processing problems, and it is also dangerous enough to work … in that case I can understand a particular price … but for titanium no.

This was exactly my experience. I used to buy OneDrop and General-Yo’s the moment they came out. That was until I bought my first Sleipnir. From that moment on; all I could do was ask why everyone didn’t make yo-yo’s as good as YYR.
Since then, I have become a bit of a pariah on the OneDrop site because of my relentless quest to get domestic manufacturers to create yo-yo’s as good as YYR …all to no avail. The only thing I achieved was making Shaun, Dave and the OneDrop fan-boys hate me
At least I got my YYR’s!

I was only going on the Acrophobia being the only one that looked like an E=MC^2. I forgot about the Perfect Star. Did they ever release that? I do not remember ever being able to actually buy one.
It was up for about a week, then they never released em again.

That whole Aluminum alloy thing was such a drama. I still have to deal with it to this day… But we did get the GZR 54; which was one of the best things OD has ever done. I find it interesting that Shinya’s new signature throw was the first all 7075 yoyo from C3. Clearly the Kido brothers believe there is something to this 7075 vs. 6061 thing.
